Chap 5-
Kate's heart fell when Rick ripped his hand away from hers.
"You're..engaged?!" He said and Kate quickly shook her head.
"NO! I was engaged!" She said but he didn't calm down yet.
"Is that why you came? To get a divorce! Rub it in my face?!" He asked furious but Kate was shaking.
"No! Rick please." She said and grabbed his arm.
Rick's jaw clenched and his chest pumped.
"Say something.." She begged.
"I'm not angry that you were engaged, I'm angry because some other man almost took you from me..again." He said and Kate looked at him.
She REALLY loved him!
"Oh Rick." She breathed and cupped his face.
"No man except you ever had my heart." She said and Rick sighed.
"I wouldn't blame them." He said.
Kate bit her lip, this sweet caring man.
"I felt the same way." She said and He raised an eyebrow.
"The thought of you engaged, possibly married to another woman, made me so jealous." She said and he softly smiled.
Deciding to ruin the moment Buster jumped up and barked, letting Rick know he wanted to go for a walk.
Rick sighed and stood up, Kate bit her lip.
Rick put his hands in his pockets and half smiled.
"Walk with me?" He asked and Kate smiled.
"I'd love to." She said and took his waiting hand.
Rick smiled and helped her to her feet.

Buster pulled on his leash, needing to go.
Rick loosened the leash and let him do his business.
Kate giggled lightly as she kept her hands in her jacket.
It was winter, when they breathed it looked like smoke.
