Chap 12-.
She called me Mommy! Kate thought, calm down Kate.
"Oh sweetie." She said and hugged her.
"It'll be okay." She said.
Buster jumped on the bed and Katie gasped.
"Buster no!" She said but the dog wouldn't budge.
He curled himself up and laid his head near Rick's side.
Kate sighed, she saw he needed to be near Rick.
She slightly smiled and brought a chair next to Rick's bed and sat down, bringing Molly on her lap as well.
Molly snuggled into Kate and Kate half smiled.
The door swung open and Kate gasped, a middle aged woman walked in and Kate immediately recognized her.
"Martha." She breathed and Martha gasped.
Martha had been away on a 3 month retreat and had no idea of what had happened in those months she was gone.
"Katherine?!" She said.
"I ugh.." She began.
How do you explain that your son re-married the woman who left him and broke his heart?
How do you explain that the same woman gave away the baby he never knew about.
"Um..H..Hi Martha." She said and the actress glared at her.
"Katherine what are you doing here?!" She said coldly and Kate gulped.
"Mommy who's that?" Molly asked and Kate's eyes widened.
"You have a daughter?! And you had the nerve to see him!" Martha yelled.
Kate shook her head quickly. She had to explain!
"No Martha.."
"Get out! You already broke his heart! How do you think he's going to react when he knows you had a child with another man!" She screamed and Kate was crying.
"Martha you don't understand." She sobbed.
"No! Get out! You and you child." She said opened the door.
Kate sobbed, she took Molly's hand but she stopped.
"No! I wanna stay with daddy!" She said and Martha's eyes widened.
"What?!" She bit out.
"I tried to explain." Kate sobbed.
Martha looked at Molly and walked over.
"Who is that man to you dear?" She asked.
"My daddy." She said and Martha glared at Kate.
"You had better explain yourself right now!" She bit out and Kate nodded weakly.
"Baby stay here with Buster and daddy, I need to talk with Martha." She said and Molly nodded.
Kate and Martha walked out. As soon as they shut the door Martha had her arms folded.
"Explain!" She said and Kate took a deep breath and bit her lip.
A few weeks ago.. I came back to NewYork to get Rick back, I had realized what a huge mistake I had made, It took me five years but I did. Well It took a bit but he..he finally forgave me and one thing led to another and we're-married." She said and Martha's eyes widened.
"What!" She yelled.
Kate took another shaky breath and continued.
"Then I got the courage to tell him that.. A few weeks after I left, I found out I was pregnant, I had given the baby up for adoption and when I told him he was furious. But..we searched for her and about 3 weeks ago we adopted her and here she is.."
She trailed off and Martha's face was emotionless.
It was so silent, you could hear a pin drop on the floor.
Kate tried to read Martha's face but she couldn't.
The only thing that came out of Martha's mouth were 7 small words.
"How did he end up in here?" She said.
"I got a call saying he had been in an accident." Kate said and Martha rubbed her temples.
"Martha.." She began but she put a hand up.
"Don't, I need some time to absorb all this in." She said and went back into the room.
Kate took a deep breath, she could take Martha being mad at her.
She deserved it anyway, after what she had done she would have felt the same way.
Kate walked in and weakly smiled, Molly was talking to Martha and Martha had a small smile on her face.
She could see Martha liked her, afterall she was her granddaughter.
Oh gosh, she had a mother in law, a daughter and a husband at 24!
Kate smiled, she wouldn't have it any other way !
