Shiera's PoV:

As usual I had woken up to her screaming bloody murder cause of that damn nightmare of hers. It's almost always the same one. And yet she is still hyperventing after each one. It's not that I don't feel for her, after all she is me...we are one and the same person. Usually she springs right back up, but today she was just too exhausted. Well that's what you get for getting beaten up into pulp. She had told me how she can never get a good night's sleep cause of the cursed dream and really wished she could take a break. And that my friends, was what gave me the opportunity of a life time to finally gain full access to this body.

It was the crack of dawn when she had woken up. The grass was covered in a layer of dew. The breeze was gentle and refreshing. And the deep, dark emerald forest was ever so inviting. I had felt a flaming desire to run into the very heart of the forest...to feel the moss and mud on my bare feet as I run free...to breath in the fresh crisp, untainted morning air. And so with her permission I let her slip into the back of her subconscience while I took her place in her conscience. I knew the rules to be followed. Number 1- I can only run in her human form and can't shift into my true form. Number 2- I must not do anything to blow our cover. Number 3 - I must return back the control at six fifty sharp. So that gave me about 1hour and fifteen minutes of control. It was difficult initially to stand on two legs, let alone walk. I never really understood how the humans managed moving around. After falling down a couple of times, I had finally gotten the hang of it. And then soon dressed up, tended to the still healing wounds and finished with the morning routines. I jumped off the balcony landing on all fours. After I had taken a few tentative steps, I headed to the woods, relishing the feel of wet grass on my bare feet.

It's been fifteen minutes straight since I have been running in the woods. It feels great, liberating actually. Since its still too early for anyone to be awake, I kind of have this whole place to myself. I dodge the trees as I run fast, pushing myself a little more with every step to test the extent of this body. My vision is sharp and my hearing perked up. I finally stop running when I reach a clearing. I fall onto my knees and pant heavily. I take deep breaths to sooth the burning in my lungs from the reduced air supply while running and rub my thigh and calf muscles to ease the taut muscles. After about a few minutes or so my body is almost back to normal, my breathing is even and now that my heart isn't thumping so hard in my chest anymore, I hear the sound of running water. Suddenly my throat feels parched and I feel extremely thirsty.

I follow the sound and soon enough discover a stream. I fall on all fours and greedily lap up the cool crystal clear water. The water enters my nose and I get up coughing. This human body is so difficult to handle. I plop down on a moss covered rock exhausted and stare at the reflection in the water. Staring back at me was a beautiful face. I lean closer to the water to examine my self better. We are more beautiful than she ever cares to admit. Even with a split lip and a nasty black eye we look great. I touch my face, tracing the perfect cheekbones and the chiseled jaws. I smile to myself and this brings out the faint dimples. The eyes shine silver as I'm in charge of the body, but its usually a shade of light brown almost caramely. But what's the point. Our life can never be normal. I wish things were different. I wish we too could keep our hair long, dress up, get our ears pierced, put on some make and look pretty and one day find our mate.
