“Damon you really need to go home it’s been almost a month since you’ve showered and slept well.” Tammy was starting to show the baby bump “I can’t leave her Tam” I rubbed my eyes hand still in Maia’s Tammy came over rubbing my back “Bro you need to sleep, I’ll take over for you I’ll hold her hand while you shower and sleep just please you need to leave you’re falling apart” Tammy cried I shook my head “Dame man let’s go for a walk” Kyle said to me Tammy removing my hand from Maia’s she slid her hand into Maia’s and I stood to walk with Kyle. “Damon I’ve talked to the doctor…” Kyle said calmly then taking a deep breath “He doesn’t think Maia’s going to make it.” Kyle was too tired to cry “No that can’t be true she’ll wake up any moment she has too” I collapsed and started to cry “Damon she loves you and you know that just think of it this way she’ll always be with you.” Kyle helped me up then led me to the car taking me back to our apartment hoping I’d sleep.

                I walked towards my room once we reached the apartment and collapsed on my bed falling asleep instantly a dream I’d hope eventually would come true appeared…

She stood beautifully in front of me her brown hair curled and pulled up with beautiful small diamond roses placed in spots making her stand out even more. Her make-up was beautiful she had a smoky like grey around her eyes making her look mysterious; her smile lit and made my heart sing with life. “What?” Maia said turning pink as she face the sunset “You look beautiful” I said to her putting my arms around her she wore a light purple gown that touched the sand. She turned her head towards me then kissed my lips gently as the sunset faded. “I’m glad you’re awake Maia, I Love You” I whispered holding her close to me “I’m glad I am too Damon I Love You Too” It was perfect.

“Damon!” Kyle said shaking me awake “Wh-What?” I said yawning “Tammy just called, Maia’s hand moved.” My heart skipped beats as I jumped out of bed and threw on a tee shirt and jeans Kyle running behind me to his car. “Are you sure?” I asked as we drove “Tammy was practically crying over the phone Damon.” We approached the hospital we sprinting towards the entrance of the hospital running and trying not to hit any nurses or people towards the elevator. “C’mon move faster!” I yelled at the machine “Calm down Damon I’m just as excited as you are.” Kyle smiled patting me on the back the elevator came to the third floor I ran out and towards the room “Here you go Damon, She’s moved but hasn’t opened her eyes yet I figured I’d let you be the first she’d want to see” Tammy smiled as she hugged me “Thank you sis” I kissed her cheek and took my spot next to Maia. God please let her eyes open. I kissed her hand then quietly sang praying she’d open her eyes again.

Maia’s POV:

‘Feels so different being here I’m so used to being next to you, Life is not the same There’s no one to talk to. Don’t know why I let it go too far starting over its so hard Seems like everywhere I try to go I keep thinking of you. I just had a wakeup call Wishing that I’d never let you fall Babe you’re not to blame at all when I’m the one that pushed you away. Baby if you knew I care you never would’ve went nowhere Girl I should have been right there. How do I breathe without you by my side How will I see when your love bought me to the light. Where do I go when your hearts where I lay my head when you’re not with me how do I Breathe How do I breathe….’ I heard a familiar male voice quietly singing ‘How Do I breathe by Mario’  I moved my hand and noticed someone a man hand was holding mine, my eyes wanted to open but I didn’t let them I didn’t feel ready. But they opened themselves slowly seeing him, Damon.

“Maia?” he sat up gripping my hand tightly “Kyle! Get a doctor she’s awake!” I looked around and noticed I was in a hospital bed a needle in my arm, the walls a pasty white with one picture on it. “Damon…?” I choked out “Well you were right she is awake, how do you feel Miss Carter?” the doctor old, removing Damon’s hand from mine making me wince. “I feel fine” I said clearly he checked everything he said I should try walking but as soon as I stepped out of the bed Damon had to hold me up to help me get my feet working again. “Damon how long have I been here?” I asked as he held my hand while we walked around the hospital “Almost a full month” he hadn’t been able to look at me fully since I awoke from my coma his hand remained in mine him making small circles around my hand making my body shiver.
