Part 3

**MONTHS AFTER ACCIDENT**

                CHARLES POV:

“So I heard from a friend awhile back that there’s going to be a masquerade at the one hotel that’s really fancy” I spoke to Lilly, Star was sleeping still “What about it?” Lilly was relaxed in her arm chair, not even showing a sign of care towards what I just said “I have a friend that well needs a date” I started off slowly getting a weird look from Lilly “Would you meet him before you say no?” I asked, showing sincerity in my eyes “I suppose but I can’t just leave Star here Charles” she sat up looking at Stars closed door “yeah about that…” I said “I was going to ask Daniel if he cared if I asked Star to be my date” I said the last part quietly but loud enough for Lilly to hear “Do it soon then, Daniel’s already adjusting to the fact that his sister was stabbed I really don’t think he needs another ‘Hello!’” she made a good point, I excused myself outside to make the phone call. “Hello?” Daniels voice spoke “Dan I wanted to make sure that you are okay with what I’m about to tell you” that did not come out right “If you got my sister pregnant I’ll kill you” the voice was harsh and sounded pissed “oh no! I was going to ask you if you’d care if I asked Star to the upcoming masquerade” I waited for a response “I guess you can, just don’t let her out of your sight do you understand me?” Daniel spoke like what a father would to their daughters boyfriend “Thanks Dan” I hung up and walked back in to see Star laying on the couch and Lilly getting her pain meds “Star could I talk to you?” I said, I looked at her body she still looked pale but not as bad as she was when she was near death I could see the scar on her stomach, it brought back that memory of her slowly dying in my arms.

“Um yeah sure, Lil could you go into your room please?” Star spoke softly, Lilly nodded giving me a look then leaving the room “Talk” she sat up making room for me to sit next to her “Okay so there’s this masquerade coming up, Lilly might be going with one of my friends and well I uh was wondering if you’d go with me?” my heart raced fast as I waited for her answer “as you’re date?” her eyes sparkled but also showed fear still “yes…” I swallowed praying I didn’t start to sweat “Sure” she smiled patting my hand, I relaxed a little making her laugh “Thanks for asking Charles” she smiled at me, then I felt her hand grasp mine making my skin tingle everywhere. Her head rested on my shoulder the scent of her perfume flowing off of her “Star time to take your pain meds” Lilly entered the room holding a bottle of pain pills “Damn…” Star remained next to me while Lilly handed her a bottle of water and a couple of pills “Thanks Lil” Stars breathing was slowly and steady mine following along with the rhythm. “When do I get to meet this friend of yours?” Lilly said, she took her seat in the arm chair looking interested in who was going to be her date “Tomorrow” I said, Lilly and my friend we’re going to be a good couple.

**TOMORROW**

LILLY’S POV:

                “Lil you’ll be fine ok?” Star sat on my bed watching me walk around nervously anxious to meet Charles’ friend, Ben “I know but I don’t like going on blind dates, what if he’s ugly” I fiddled with my light pink dress, it wasn’t too long but it also wasn’t ‘I can see your ass’ short either. “If he’s friends with Charles he really can’t be that ugly Lil” I noticed a smile as she spoke of her date “Lilly?” Charles’ voice rang through the small apartment, I took a deep breath and walked out of the room Star following behind. I stopped dead in my tracks as I saw a gorgeous looking man, his deep blue eyes looking at me his blonde hair wavy and rather sexy and he was even taller than Charles which I liked “You must be Lilly, I’ve heard a lot about you” his voice was even sexy, it was deep and well sexy “You must be Ben then” I smiled, I shook his hand tight grip but more like a business hand shake “Ready to go?” He held out his arm for me, dear god I’m in heaven “Definitely” I blushed then whispered to Charles “If this date goes well I will love you for eternity Charles” he laughed walking over to Star who was going to be alone with him tonight. I was ready for this date, even if my body wasn’t.

                STARS POV:

We had a small stack of movies placed on the coffee table, my head in his lap on the couch his hand gently stroking my cheeks I felt my body send tingles everywhere with each gentle stroke. “Star if I tell you something will you promise not to get mad?” my heart raced as he said that “I promise” I heard him take a deep breath “Star…  Since we were kids I’ve always well had a crush on you” he started off I sat up to look into his eyes to make sure he wasn’t lying “Daniel always kept a close eye on me when we were kids and well he still does to this day, I really like you Star” he took another deep breath, I felt my heart melt as he spoke those last five words “I like you too Charles” I blushed feeling a soft kiss on my cheek I blushed even more “You blush a lot” he said with a huge smile, I giggled making him laugh. This was one of the best moments of my life.
