***A Year Later***

Tammy’s POV:

I stood feeling the butterflies in my stomach as Maia helped zip up the back of my beautiful wedding gown, I’d worked hard to fit into this dress. “God Tammy you look so beautiful!” Maia gushed as she tied the sash behind me “Thanks Maia”

“Look James look at how pretty your momma looks” I heard my mother say as she held my beautiful one year old boy who looked so much like his father “gosh he’s so cute!” one of my friends, Angel, gushed while she drank a glass of wine “he’s cute like his daddy” the girls awed while Maia gagged.

                I looked into the mirror I no longer had my short bobby brown hair it was now dirty blonde and curled up my diamond earrings hung loosely from my ears not too long not too short my dress hung perfectly to the floor with its many waves I couldn’t believe it was me in this dress.

“You’re all tied and zipped Tam” Maia smiled proudly she wore a light baby blue gown with a white sash around her waist it wasn’t her color but she still looked pretty with her long brown hair curled and hanging loose over her shoulders, I was so thankful to have her as my best friend and Maid of Honor.

                There was a knock at the door “we’re ready to go” Maia’s mother said, I look over at Maia who smiled widely at me I grabbed my flowers and took a deep breath to meet my father outside the door or well step-father who I loved like my real father “You look beautiful Tam-Tam” he smiled pulling the veil down over my face “Just take small deep breaths and you’ll be fine” he took my arm and we waited for my 5 year old cousin who was the flower girl along with my mother who carried my son who was the ring bear along with the bridesmaids and then Maia. As we walked I felt my heart flutter in a rhythmic movement it relaxed me then the wedding music started giving me and my step-dad the hint that it was time to start walking . Everyone stood watching us my step-brother also Maia’s boyfriend stood beside my soon to be husband who smiled at me widely his blue eyes sparkling, my father gave me away kissing my cheek pulling up the veil showing of my face. We said all our vows then we said our ‘I do’s’

“You may now kiss the bride” Kyle took me into his arms then planted one big kiss on my lips everyone clapping some even crying, my son crying from being hungry. Everything was perfect just simply perfect, but the reception was going to be better.

Damon’s POV:

                I sat at the main table where the bride and groom sat watching the bride and groom dance on the floor looking around for Maia. “Damon?” Angel asked me “Hey Angel” I hugged her “you look distracted” she smiled “I’m looking for Maia”

“Oh she’s over there playing with James Jr.” she pointed over in a corner that was far away from the DJ the little tike bouncing and laughing on Maia’s lap “Thanks”

                “Damon my man!” Kyle said obviously a little tipsy “Congrats man that’s all I have to say” I hugged him then walked over to my nephew and girlfriend.

                “Hey” she said looking up her make-up done to perfection the curls hung wonderfully against her face the dress making my heart flutter “Hey little one” I said kissing my nephews soft baby smelling head “Tammy’s never been so happy in her life” Maia said bouncing James Jr. “Yeah Kyle looks happy too”

“What’s on your mind Dame?” Maia looked at me concerned with my lack of smiling “tired” I simply responded. “Damon can I talk to you?” Tammy came over tapping on my shoulder “Sure sis”

We walked into the beautifully done garden lights hanging from plants the flowers to perfection “What’s up Mrs. Carter?” I smiled “You’ve been with Maia for almost a year and I know from Kyle of course that you bought her a ring is that true?” she looked at me “Yeah I was planning on proposing tonight but I don’t know…” I leaned up against a railing that led into the bigger part of the garden “Well I think you should soon or well after cake but that’s just my opinion” Tammy smiled then left to go be with her husband she was right though I was going to have to pop the question soon.

Maia’s POV:

                I watched the happy couple as they cut their cake handing Tammy their son and instead of feeding each other they put some cake in James Jr’s mouth making his mouth covered with white frosting I took a picture that was definitely going up for James Jr. graduation party.

                Everyone was having a good time even James Jr. was, I felt of arms wrap around my waist holding me “Hello Beautiful” Damon whispered into my ear “Well hello there” I laughed he turned me around arms still around my waist I put my arms around his neck “You look so beautiful” he loved turning me pink. “Come with me” he said grabbing my hand then looking over at Tammy who was smiling from ear to ear those two were up to no good I could feel it.

                “Maia…” He walked over near a fountain “What’s up Damon?” I asked noticing that he was loosening his tie “Maia, my beautiful Maia I’ve loved you since we were kids and I still love you to this day.” My heart was racing “Damon where are you going with this?”

“I want to be by your side until I die, I want to sleep by your side every night in my arms I want to spend the rest of my forever with you” he got down on one knee “and I was wondering if you’d do me the honor and become my Maia Evelyn McAllen?” he opened the ring box showing a beautiful elegant old fashioned ring “Oh my Damon its beautiful” I gushed

“You’re making me nervous could you please give me an answer” he said still on one knee “Yes!” I squealed he sighed with relief sliding on the beautiful ring on my left hand I wrapped my arms around his neck then kissed him passionately only to hear a big crowd of Awe’s from behind us making me hide my pink face into my wonderful smelling Fiancé. “’Bout time man!” Kyle came over hitting Damon in the back teasingly my face still hidden in his chest, I peeked out to see my big brother smiling at me “Come here little sis” he pulled me into a hug he smelled good too “Ahh! I’m so happy for you guys!” Tammy said hugging her step-brother. It was a night no one was ever going to forget.
