Lily had concluded that not everyone would except what she and Regulus were. There friendship, if you could call it that.
That girl, the one with the black curly hair, the dark eyes but porcelain skin was cruel.
Mudblood, wherever she went. Mudblood, whenever she was in earshot. Mudblood, because she was one.
Why did Regulus like her? What did he see in her?
It shouldn't mind her. Severus Snape, her best friend, is a Slytherin. Why doesn't she get tormented for being friends with him? Why is it that it's only with the boy with grey eyes?
Because Severus is an outcast. Regulus isn't.
So she tried to ignore him. Their friendship was clearly hurting each other, him physically and her emotionally. So why put us through any more pain?
But it was also the cowards way out.
She seriously contemplated forgetting him. She did. But then, something happened. He stood up for her.
He stopped Bellatrix from hurting her. He stopped the emotional pain. He helped her. It was enough to realise that she like being his friend.
