Things were... changing. Fast.
He was growing attached to her in ways that couldn't be explained. He saw her as something more than extraordinary, something more than beautiful.
Andromeda had finally noticed that. She told him it wasn't a good idea, that he'll get thrown out of the family for this. "Is she worth being disowned, Regulus?" She had asked him.
"She is worth more than that," he had automatically replied and it frightened him to death. Was she?
He saw the way that Potter boy looked at her, with adoration and a bit of obsessive desire. He knew that a boy like him would be better off with a girl like Lily.
He just wanted her to be his, and him to be hers.
He trusted her more than he trusted his parents and cousins combined. She made him see things in a different light, feel things he didn't want to but he loved the feelings nevertheless. It was just so complicated.
He understood from Sirius that her birthday was coming up. She had gotten him presents for the last two years. It was now his turn to return the favour.
