Ch - 6

" Thats right he is Mr. ba...WHATTT" i screamed completely shocked and stopped on my tracks.

" Can you repeat what you said i think i heard you wrong!" i asked after a moment .

" No you didnt hear me wrong he is Mr.Base" Rodrigo said looking at the guy who is supposively Mr.base.

I was numb, did i just hit the owner of the apartment and threaten him ...ohh gawd I'm dead.

" Come on now lets go sit down he wants to talk with you!" he nudge while whispering .

Mr.base had turned away rubbing his head were i hit him .

I didn't move and mouthed No-he-will-kill-me !

He mouthed back.

" I-promise-i-wont-let-you-get-fired-i'll-take-responsibility" And pushed me forwarded.

" Do you think i am thinking about getting fired thats a given but the think i am scare of is if he asked me to pay up for the damage .......i am totally broke!" i said holding Mason tightly as he was slipping away from my hands . Its amazing how he was able to sleep after all the shouting.

"Would you two come here already!" Mr. base said in an authorised way but not looking at our direction.

'yes' we said in union and sat to the opposite sofa to Mr. Base and after a minute or two he broke the silence.

" You know that you should alway see who it is like a normal person and not throwing things at them right ? " he questioned.

I awkwardly placed Mason on my lap and answered. " I am sorry Mr.base for my carelessness i didnt expected it to hit you because i have a very bad aim but unluckily it did" i said in all seriousness .

It was my first day and I'm already in trouble.

" It did unfortunately and after hitting me you tied me up instead of informing the security or the police ...Where did your common sense go ? " he questioned again sternly.

" I...I. . " i stuttered unable to form any words what so ever, looking down at the floor .

" Anyways ...There is no point talking about it now but I don't want anything like this happening again , do I make myself clear?" he questioned standing up taking a still sleeping Mason from my lap and walked away without uttering another word.

Rodrigo and I stared at each other cluelessly.

" Was I fired?"

" I don't think so ...no!" he grinned relieved.

I mouthed so that Mr. base wouldn't hear a thing I say.

I thank the God of Gods for saving my sorry ass today and said farewell to Rodrigo assuring him that I would talk to Mr. base . About what exactly I don't know that yet.

How should I try starting a conversation I though.

My brain's tubelight lit.

I decided to cook chicken soup for Mr. base to help him regain his strength as he regused to go to a doctor when Rodrigo asked before going.

*knock knock *

" Mr.Base its me Amanda the new nanny !" i called out and when i heard a " come in " i entered.

" umm..i made some chicken soup for you ." I said hesitantly.

" Keep it here i'll eat it later. " he said glancing at me for a second and going back to his work in the laptop.

" umm ok...and Mr .base...." i started.

" Yes Ms. Waters ?" he finally answered looking at me.

" Im really sorry for what happen just a while ago !.....Am I. ... fired??" i questioned him for conformation.

" No not yet but if you make another mistake regarding Mason 's safety then you will be! " he announced and a smile creeped on face.

" Thank you Mr.Base i will not make any other mistakes i promise you that! " i said happily.

" i hope so you wont and ..."

" And??" i asked .

" I want you to move in tomorrow " he said calmly.

" WHAT" i shouted loudly not expecting moving in the house to be in the job protocol .

" Are not you aware of that it was clearly written in the job protocol! " he glanced at me for my sudden shocked reaction.

" Umm..can you give me a second ...I umm..need to make an important call!" I excused myself before making any stupid decision I might regret later.

I dialled Chair's number in fury.

" Hello darling what's up?" she answered chirpy.

"I got the job." i said in a monotone manner.

" Then why do you sound irritated relaying the good news?" Claire inquired noticing my mood.

"Its because someone forgot to tell me that moving in the apartment was under the job protocol" i said irritatedly.

" ohh......umm sorry about that but anyways whats the problem with moving in its not like he asked you to share a bedroom ...or did he?" she shouted the last part after a pause.

" No he didnt but i cant just move in with a stranger " i exclaimed.

" Amanda stop being naive and move in. Think of the money you could earn and pay off your loans with. ...ohh and talk to you later my shift starts now babyee! "She hung up before I could shower her with more lectures.

That wicked girl I'll kill her.

I walk towards his room after thinking everything through.

" Excuse me Mr. Base can i come in " i requested knocking at his room's door .

" you can come in " he replied not looking away from his laptop .

"Thank you " i said sitting on the chair he gestured to sit at.

" Mr. base i accept the job but i have some conditions that i would like you have to agree to... as i have to yours." i demanded politely.

" let me hear them and decide if i want to accept the conditions or not" he replied looking at me with an raises eyebrow. If he was trying to look intimidating it worked.

But I didn't show it and continued.

" There are only two of them :

1. You will not force me to do any thing i am not comfortable with .

2.We respect each others privacy and just because i work under you does not give you the right to enter my personal space" .

I waited for his reply patiently.

" ok we have a deal! " he said forwarding a hand and I shook it.
