Molly’s POV

Niall opened the door of the Range Rover and helped me out of the vehicle. We walked through the parking lot until we came up to the entrance. Behind it, the rollercoasters and game booths were roaring with life. Lights were flashing everywhere and music played from somewhere off in the distance. Bells were ringing from a nearby booth, and there were so many people there, all chatting and shouting to be heard over the other. The smell of cotton candy from a nearby stand was strong, making my mouth water like crazy.

Niall had on a pair of ray bans and a black beanie, along with a black leather jacket and black skinny jeans. His blonde hair was sticking out from beneath the beanie, making it look lighter than usual. He was so worried about people recognizing him, that he did an extreme outfit makeover; even I had trouble remembering it was him. I, on the other hand, was fine because the media never saw me yet. The strangers walking by us gave me a few odd looks, probably thinking Niall was some dark emo kid, and I was some kind of frilly little miss perfect and innocent.

I laughed, if they only knew.

Niall grabbed my hand and squeezed it, looking over at a large lot where there was some game with a football (soccer) goal, and a ball. On a shelf near it was a huge white teddy bear with a pink bow around its neck.

“I think that teddy bear needs a friend, dontchya think Molly?”

I shrugged, probably blushing like a fool.

He pulled me over to the booth and the man in charge of it explained what to do. To win the teddy bear, he had to make a goal, which sounded easy, until he told us that the goalie was off some professional team. Now, I don’t follow sports much, but I guess this goalie was pretty talented because Niall knew who he was.

Once Niall was in position, he dropped the ball to his feet and kicked it around a little. The goalie swayed back and forth, knees bent and hands ready to pounce, he looked skeptically at Niall.

Then, with a few steps to gain momentum and a swift kick, Niall shot the ball at the goal. It sailed to the upper right corner, and the goalie jumped towards it, but barely scraped it as it scraped into the net.

Niall flashed a huge smile at me and I laughed as he ran and picked me up in a hug.

“Did you see that?! I was just, then he jumped and I was like, and then I made it!” He was talking out of breath and kept looking back and forth between me and the goal, like he couldn’t believe it happened.

“I know, I know I saw! Haha how’d you learn to do that?!” I asked him in disbelief.

He shrugged, “I used to play with my brother all the time.” His smile dropped, probably remembering the past. “But I don’t see him much anymore.”

“Well maybe sometime you can teach me?” I asked him, trying to cheer him back up.

“I’d love to.”

The man in charge of the booth handed us the giant white teddy bear with the pink bow, I grabbed it but was having trouble carrying it.

“Here, I’ll carry it” Niall grabbed the teddy bear, and put it underneath his arm. “Are you hungry for some funnel cakes?”
