Falling for Marshall

Chapter 24.

Leah's P.O.V:
"Hey did you know Marshall's married to Kim?" I ask Ray as I walk into my kitchen. He turns the page on the newspaper and nods.

"Yeah, didn't you?" He asks drinking his coffee. It was weird how I had know idea Marshall and Kim were married. It was February and valentine's day was just last week, Marshall and Kim had gona on a holiday and they had left Hailie and Alaina with me for two weeks.

Marshall and me weren't exactly on good terms becuase of what had happened in December on Hailie's birthday. When we try to talk we would always end up arguing about something. He would take the kids on the weekend and I would have them on weekdays.

"No, I had no idea." I sigh and take a seat on the high chair across from him.

"Have you tried talking to him?" Ray asks closing the newspaper and looking at me.

"No." I sigh.

"Chay, haven't you tried for full custody? Marshall said he would." Ray says, I push my hair behind my ear and tap my nails on the counter.

"He hasn't made his move...So I see no reason to make my move." I shurg.

"Guess your right." Ray nods. "Don't tell Kacey this alright?" Ray says pointing at me.

"I won't." I shurg, he sighs heavily and doesn't talk for a few long seconds.

"When you were in Chicago Leah, me and Kacey were about to break up..Reece was around six or seven then. It would be non stop arguing and fighting and shouting and hitting.." Ray sighs.

"Why didn't you or Kacey tell me Ryan?" I ask worried.

"Because, we knew you would have come back to Detroit if we told you and we couldn't take the risk of Capleo knowing you were back." Ray explains.

"Okay. But why tell me this now?" I ask confused.

"Because, we were both going for full custody for Reece." Ray says quietly.

"So did you?" I ask and raise my brow.

"Yeah I did. We both did. My lawyer had told me that it was likely for me to get Reece because Kacey was hiding him from me for his first three years and in the end I did get him but when it was time to sign the papers Kacey was sitting right across me crying and I couldn't sign the papers.." Ray shurgs. "I couldn't see Kacey get hurt, I couldn't see her without her son by her side, you know?" Ray looks up at me I nod slowly and look down at my hands on the counter.

"Your telling me this because..I didn't tell Marshall about his own kids for 10 years..and he's likely to get full custody because he missed 10 years of their life.." I huff.

"Yeah." Ray mumbles.

"Well what do I do? I- Ray I can't be without my own two kids." I could feel tears threatening to spill.

"Just.." Ray huffs. "Just be prepared. Marshall, he's a bigger celebrity Chay, so are you. But he's bigger and he's most likely to get his way. Just be prepared." Ray sighs.

"Hailie, Alaina!" I shout for the girls from the bottom of the stairs. "Avery!" I shout again as I slide my feet into my jordans. "Aron, baby. Go call your sisters please." I say as I walk into the family room.

"Okay..Wait. I've nearly finished the game- Oh! Uncles Ray's score too high to beat." Aron huffs and throws his playstaion remote conrol next to him on the couch, he sighs and walks out the room to call Avery, Alaina and Hailie.

Kim and Marshall had come home early from their holiday for some reason and I was going to drop of Alaina and Hailie off. We all buckle up and I drive towards Marshall's palce.
