#21 Heir(iy) situation

Poseidon's POV

     After Percy does this thing with his hand, the whole palace glows in a golden light and after the light dies I find Percy unconscious on the floor, so I ask Delphin to help him. Delphin controls water and makes Percy sit on a chair. I went to his side too. I saw that he was only unconscious and not anything else. I relaxed and looked around. Triton was looking at the city with shocked expression. I ignore that as I waited for Percy to awaken.

      After 10 minutes the doors opened to show Amphitrite in her mermaid form. She looked at all of us and immediately asked "Milord have you seen the city?"

       I shook my head sideways, and asked "What has happened?"

      "It would be better if you looked at it your selves" she said. Everyone along with Percy exited the palace to find the city back in all its glory. All the destroyed buildings were back on there feet, all the explosion marks were gone and more importantly every citizen of the city was safe and were in front of the palace gates. Everyone was confused due to this development, and were utterly shocked.

     At this same moment Percy woke up. He mumbled something and when he saw me he said "Looks like it worked"

     I finally realised his plan and its consequences and asked "My son you could do a spell this huge?"

     Amphitrite and Trition were speechless where as Delphin excitingly rolled in the water in his dolphin form.

     Percy just said "I tried it for the first time today" some merman shouted "Milord what has happened to the city!"

    I turned towards the city's population and announced "Our city has been saved by my son, Perseus. He alone made the city regain its former glory. He was made a god a few days ago. He is the God of time, earthquakes, swordsmanship, loyalty and Heros. He is also the 15th Olympian, and Heir to my throne here!"

     All the citizens finally understood what Percy did Cheered for him with a ear shattering cheer. The cheer was as loud as a earthquake. After the cheer died Delphin summoned some nectar and ambrosia for Percy which he took without any complaint.

After everything calmed down Trition shouted "There can be only one Heir! I refuse to accept this!"

Trition started insulting Percy about being a mortal, and some colourful words. Percy ignored them but I could feel the atmosphere getting colder and colder after every insult. All the citizens were watching Trition throwing insults at Percy but couldn't do anything to stop him as he was their prince for many millennia. Trition finally shouted " Your mothers a slut!"

The whole city no rather the whole ocean shook when he said that, no I didn't do anything. Percy gave a glare that would make Zeus shit his pants to Trition and Percy shouted "TRITION! DON'T YOU DARE TALK ABOUT MY MOTHER LIKE THAT! I'L MAKE YOU FADE!"

The whole sea was affected by Percy's shout that it resounded to both the heavens and underworld below.

Percy's POV

When Trition insulted me, I didn't say anything as it didn't bother me that much. I had insulted many a times by enemies and I kind of got used to it. But when he insulted my mother I was beyond furious. I was so angry that the whole sea shook because of me.

Trition then said "I challenge you to a duel for the Heir right now!"

Actually I didn't have much in mind of being the heir, dad just gave it to me so I had no problem with it. Trition was like Zeus in this matter, as if everyone wanted HIS candy but I was so angry that I shouted "I accept!"

All the other cities were looking at us as if we were playing tennis, one to another. Poseidon interjected "My sons are you sure that you want to do this?"

Before Teition could reply I said "Yes Father, he has insulted mother which I will make him pay for"

Poseidon then said "I understand, we will relocate this fight in the arena. Let the fight be there."

Trition and I nodded and swam towards the arena. The whole arena was packed with people who arrived just then. One one side were my supporters which was like 3/4 path of the arena and the rest 1/4th was Trition's supporters. All of my weapons were with me. I took out Riptide as it was the most familiar sword to me. I got ready for the fight on my side and Trition was on the opposite side polishing his trident.

I quickly used Ares' gift to analyse his trident. It was a normal looking trident with a lot of power behind it. Poseidon the shouted "This fight is for the honor of Sally Jackson and deciding the single heir of Atlantis!" The crowd cheered. Both of us got in the middle of the arena where Delphin was standing? Delphin was in his dolphin form and said "Both of you ready yourselves!"

I single handed the bronze sword in my right hand and he gripped his trident with both of his hands. Delphin then said "Fight on 3, 1......2.........3" as soon as he said that Trition and I flew towards each other and launched our attacks. I parried his trident with my sword which caused his trident to have a chip taken off it. He retaliated by making the water around us push me away, I flew to the wall, and then I forced the water to free me. He had stronger water powers than I, I knew that. So this time around I used the water as a boost and flew towards him at in human speed. He tried to control water to stop me from coming toward him but I used time domain to stop the water and avoid him gaining any advantage.

I got near him and tried to attack him when he started to try and jab me with his trident. I avoided his trident rand used my sword to cut him when ever his body came near me. His wrists were dripping of ichor and my body was completely fine. I used my time domain and stop the time where he used his water powers. I continuously used water to boost around the arena and cut him at every opening possible. His whole body was now with ichor and his once magnificent trident was looking like a rusted trident.

I was getting weaker and weaker as the huge spell costed me a lot of stress. I then decided to end the fight and summoned Maelstrom in my left hand. I was looking like a blur of gold and bronze when I swam around him. I decided to face him face to face and headed straight for him. He raised his trident and pointed at my head as its target, I used my golden sword and blocked his attack with it. Blocked might be a small word as his trident sliced through from the middle making it look like a simple rod.

Without wasting a moment I used Riptide and stabbed his right arm and pinned him to the ground. He screamed due to the pain, I pointed my golden sword at his throat and shouted "YEILD!"
