Lilliana faced the glass that showed Seongwoo on the other side. It was one of those one-way mirrors where she could see him, but he couldn't see her. His head still hung low, his consciousness slowly returning. Her eyes were glued to him, as if she could protect him somehow, but it was too late.

Seongwoo was faintly aware of his surroundings, the small room, his hands which were unable to move. From the corner of his eye, he saw a guard of some sort, walk near him. The guard's face was covered by a mask, yet his eyes were uncovered. Seongwoo, who still had not recovered from the drug that had intoxicated him, was unable to make out the colour of the eyes or any other feature. He was just about able to make out the outline of the features. Lilliana tensed from the other side of the glass, who was able to see everything that was going on.

Moments later, his hands and his body were free. Seongwoo braced himself, as much as he could in his weakened state, as if he knew what was going to come next. Without any warning, something smashed into Seongwoo's back, sending him tumbling towards the floor. Pain shot through him, his back, his arms, everywhere. Lilliana had gasped and jolted forward as if she could save him. Pain filled her heart as she finally understood why The Tower had brought her here: to watch uselessly as Seongwoo would get hurt.

As he fell towards the ground, something fell out of his pocket. He reached towards it, and felt it, immediately knowing what it was. Even with his eyes closed, and the pain shooting through him, he knew it was the locket that contained the photo of him and Lilliana. Closing his fist around the locket, the cool metal of the chain against his burning hand, he stood up, only to be sent back to the floor by an incoming kick.

Pain. Pain. All he felt was pain. He let out a little cry, but even then, he tried to muffle it. It was a struggle to even keep his eyes open. His fist tightened around the locket, as he took another breath, and stood up again. Again and again, he continued to stand back up, no matter how many times he was hit, send to the floor in raging pain. Blood started oozing from several parts of his body. He didn't give up; again he stood up.

Lilliana watched hopelessly as Seongwoo was constantly beaten, again and again. Her heart ached every time he got back up, only to be thrown back down. The tears ran down her face uncontrollably. She couldn't move, couldn't help as her boyfriend was beaten brutally. Her heart felt as if it was in her mouth, and she felt as though she would feel sick any moment soon. Nothing. She couldn't do anything as she watched him get tortured all because of her.

Kicks, punches, sticks, bats. Everything was used against Seongwoo. In his already weakened state, he was unstable on his feet, falling back down even when the others didn't do anything to him. Again and again. Kick. Punch. Kick. Punch. Every once in a while, the metal stick would also come in contact with his body, taking the breath away from him. He tried his hardest not to let out any sound, but the pain was almost unbearable. Each second was worse than the previous one.

Joe watched, expressionless. The boy was already weak due to the blow on the head, and every kick and punch made him weaker than the moment before. Until, Seongwoo could no longer stand on his own too feet. Until the world around him was swaying, until all the the things he saw were muddled to one great big blob of colour.

Crack!

The sound of the whip meeting flesh was heard, and Seongwoo knew there was only so much he could take.

Crack!

Once more, the whip met with his skin, this time, there were two guards holding them. One would whip him, and immediately the other would as well, not giving Seongwoo time to recover from the first one. The sound of the whip slapping the skin and the few cries in pain were the only sounds in the room.

Crack!

The tears would not stop, as she watched those monsters beat up the person who meant the world to her. The sound of every whip, the sound of his cry in pain, everything became too much to bear. "Stop... please..." She begged Joe, her voice cracking on every word. "Please... just stop hurting him." Joe stares blankly at her face and resumed to watching Seongwoo. The small room she was in closed in on her, the walls squeezing her so tight, she was suffocated. Lilliana was consumed by darkness, the sounds of torture and Seongwoo in pain still in her mind, even when conscious left her.

His clothes were bloody and ripped. Blood dropped from his head, onto his face. His face was bruised and swollen, his eyes losing focus, his arms and legs unable to support him up. He was a bloody mess on the floor. The guards took this opportunity to connect his arms to wires. Seongwoo was faintly aware of what they were doing, but he had no strength to pull away. With a switch of a button, Seongwoo was electrocuted. It was only a small shock, but enough to send him back to the state of being unconscious. His lifeless body lay on the floor, as he was pulled out of the room, so the guards could do what they had planned next.

The entire time, his hand was in a fist, firmly around the locket. Sometime during the torture, he had slipped it into a pocket, his hands too weak to keep holding onto it.
