Chapter 3 ✔️

It was 11 AM and I didn't want to get out of my bed, my warm snuggly bed. The sun shone through the window, onto my face,which made me more lazy. I pulled the duvet over my head getting rid of the light. And then I remembered, we're in Seoul!

I shot right up, thinking of all the things I wanted to do, places I wanted to explore. I ran downstairs and saw that there was a note on the table. Picking it up, it read,

Lilli, I'll be back later on this evening. Stay in the house and make dinner for yourself if I'm not back by 6. -Joe.

Ugh, I had to stay inside when I'm in this foreign country, this new place that I want to explore? Well that's just great. I made myself some cereal and thought of the things I could do inside the house. I've already explored the house, that was one of the first things I did.

But then again.. if Joe wasn't home.. he wouldn't know if I had gone out or not right? I just needed to be back by 5, and that way I could make dinner as well. My happiness and excitement restored, I shot up to get ready and explore the world out there.

I chose a casual outfit, black jeans, black top and black Timberlands with an army jacket. After grabbing my phone, I headed downstairs.

My heart was racing a million miles per hour contemplating on what I should do; whether I should disobey Joe or not. I hesitated going out of the front door. What if he found out? What if I was caught? I'd never be allowed to go out then. I'd most likely be locked up at home. What do I do? But the desire to go outside was so strong, I gave in. I just have to make sure I'm back around 5, I thought to myself.

I walked around the streets, amazed to see everything. Thoughts were running around in my head, Seoul is so beautiful! I can't believe I'm actually here, walking on the streets of this beautiful country! The trees seemed more greener than what it was like at Erilea. The sky looked brighter, even the clouds were different. It was more... brighter. The atmosphere of Seoul was more lighter and happier than back home. The sun shone brightly, and the birds flew through the sky as if they didn't have a care in the world. My heart was jumping with excitement. This strange yet amazing smell surrounded me. Turning to find it's source, I saw a stall selling some food. I didn't know what it was called, but it looked so good. I would have brought it if I had money on me, but I didn't. I walked away before I looked like a complete weirdo just standing there.

I walked around for a while more, simply enjoying myself when I realized, I didn't know where I was. Oh God, I'm lost. I looked at the time and saw that an hour had passed. Already?? I panicked inside, not knowing what to do. I couldn't even ask for help because I didn't know the language. This is why you shouldn't do stupid things Lilliana! I cursed at my self. How could you have been so careless?? What are you doing to do now???

Okay, breathe. You're lost, you don't know where you are and Joe is going to kill- no I have to stay calm.

I walk towards the way I came from, at least that's what I thought. But it all looked so different. Why oh why did I go out when I wasn't supposed to?! I carry on walking just thinking of how none of this is would have happened if I had been sensible and stayed at home. I couldn't even blame anyone, only myself. I had become so focused on talking to myself, I didn't realize I had wondered off to someplace that was completely empty.

Really, Lilliana, because you aren't lost enough as it is already.

I was figuring out which way I was going to go, when I heard this.. sound. It was unlike anything I had heard before, and it intrigued me. It was so strange, hypnotic almost. My feet were already walking towards the direction of the sound. Not knowing where my feet were taking me, I found myself in the middle of a strange abandoned place. Then I heard silence. Realization hit me. I needed to get home.

Then, out of nowhere, a more lively kind of sound came out. It was a mixture of tapping and banging, but in a way that excited me. Not  wanting to lose it's source, I followed it. Quickening my steps, I saw a figure who could help me.

I'm about 2 meters away from the person, this man, and his back is facing me. He was dressed in a white shirt and black trousers. But that wasn't what made me hesitate. His body.. it was moving in such a way I had never seen. The movements of his body were in sync with the beat, as if they were one. I didn't know what he was doing, but it looked somewhat cool, but also dangerous. How did his body move like that? His shirt shook with every move he made. Wasn't he going to damage his bones? He was moving his body, along with the sound that I had heard before. I had never seen anything like it before. Who and what is he?? I just stood there, watching him. I was amazed, and I couldn't take my eyes off him. I then  realized that I had to get home. Checking my phone, I saw it was 5:10. Oh gosh oh gosh oh gosh! I'm late! What if Joe comes back? What if he's already back and I'm not?

But I didn't know which way to go! I didn't have enough courage to ask the man in front of me, especially after I had just watched him. I turn back and try to find my way home.

After about 10 minutes, I finally came across a road I recognized. Finally!! I was home!

I came into the house ever so hesitantly. Thankfully, Joe wasn't home yet. I let out a breath, and went straight to my room. Walking in,I  thought about everything. I thought about how I had spent my time, and how despite everything, it was worth it. I got to see the beauties of the city that I was now staying in.

That man. I couldn't get him out of my mind. What he was doing... it amazed me so much I couldn't describe it. I wanted to stay there and watch him.
Questions ran through my mind.

Who was he? What was he doing? How was he doing it? I wanted to know more.

I went downstairs, to make some food for myself. All that exploring had made me hungry. Just as I was setting the table, Joe came in.
