I was completely exhausted once my shift was over. I changed out of my uniform, grabbed some food, and went home. I checked my phone, and had 2 new messages.

Em: how was work today? :) sorry again for leaving you on your own!:( it wasn't too busy today was it??

I wanted to say, you've missed a whole lot of things, but decided against it.

Me: it was fine, Hyunjin was looking out for me. How are you?

I knew I had to tell her what happened. Even if I didn't, Hyunjin would just tell her anyway. But it would have to wait until tomorrow. My head was so heavy, I just wanted to sleep.

The other message was from Jennie. I'll reply to her tomorrow, I thought to myself, when I had more life in me. I felt bad for doing this, but I had such a busy day, and I didn't want to accidentally tell her anything that could potentially put her in danger.

As soon as I got home, I ran straight to my room and lay down on my bed. And in seconds darkness enveloped me.

That night was the most peaceful sleep ever. I didn't have any dreams at all. I  slept just like a baby that night. When I awoke, I lazed around in my bed, thinking. I thought about what happened yesterday. Why did I start freaking out all of a sudden? Where did those images come from? What were those images? Were they true, did they really happen, or was my mind playing tricks on me? The most troubling was the one with the hands reaching out and grabbing hold of me,suffocating the life out of me. I knew I was looking for answers I wouldn't get.

Jumping out of bed, I realized today was Saturday, which meant Joe and I were having dinner together. I went down and saw that he left me a note:
Lilli, make sure you're ready by 7, our dinner awaits!
I laugh slightly, knowing that this dinner meant a lot to him because he wanted to make it up to me for not being around as much. As I put his note down, my eye caught a letter. Picking it up it was addressed to me. That's strange.

Opening it up, it read,

07518 LILLIANA CHO
Miss Lilliana Cho

We are pleased to announce that your application has been successful for The Test. We have found you a match. More details will be sent to you later on.

Oh. The Test. I had forgotten all about that. The Test was something everyone had to take. I took it before we came to Seoul. It matched you with someone who you would be with, someone who would become your husband. It was based on personality, likes and dislikes and hobbies. In Erilea, love marriages were not allowed. We were not allowed to fall in love with anyone, hence why we went to separate schools. It didn't really matter to me, because I honestly didn't care. Love wasn't a happy thing for me anyway.

I had another shift today in an hours time. I had to tell Em about what happened yesterday. Just thinking about it made my head hurt. I picked up my phone, remembering Jennie's text.

Jennie: hey do you know how much I'm missing you right now?? I have to go to the lectures ALL ALONE. Are you even watching the lectures? I bet you're not. We all miss you so much 😫❤️❤️

I smiled as I read her text, and I felt a little guilty for not replying before.

Me: oh shut up, you know you have other friends other than me. Don't act like you don't stupid. I actually do watch the lectures, what else am I meant to do apart from my part time job and going out??? Missing you too 💔
