wenty-Four

"You mean to say Hook, as in, Captain Hook, kidnapped you aboard the Jolly Roger?"

"I know it sounds crazy Dastan, but it's the truth!" I cry, after an hour and a half of explaining myself has gone by.

Dastan stops laughing enough to take my hands in his and sternly look into the eyes. "Mickey," he says. "it's not like that. I've seen the villains face to face before, the real ones, not the cast members. But they've been behind bars, just as they are now. There is no possible way they can escape those prisons. I know you have been through a lot lately, maybe you just need some rest." He squeezes my hand. "Everything's alright. No one's in danger here."

My lips touch as my eyebrows knit a frown. "You mean to say the villains are actually real?" He nods, biting his lip. "And you think I'm making this up?" He looks to the ground. "Dastan," I say. "don't you think that there is even a slight chance that I'm not lying."

Silence.

"When was the last time you even looked at those prisons?" I ask. "The hideout seemed pretty legit to me. Not only that, but it also seemed tidy, so unless they have someone like Snow White coming to clean the cottage every day, and I don't think that's very likely, then I'm guessing they've been there a lot longer than you've suspected."

I cross my arms as he continues to stare at me. Blinking. Just blinking.

"You still don't believe me, do you?"

He ruffles his hand through his hair. "Mickey, even if you are speaking the truth, what would the villains want with you anyway?"

"They don't," I say. "They just want my resources."

He blinks. "Your resources?"

"You!" I say. "They need you."

"So you're using me?"

I hit him. "Of course not! I need your help. They want this book, it sounds stupid to me, but it evidently means a lot to them. I'm supposed to get it. Tonight."

He shuffles his back pack. "A book? What kind of book?"

"A book of secrets," I whisper, suddenly aware that I'm still in a very public place. Not to mention incredibly close to the Little Mermaid ride where Ursala, the sea witch, stays. Anybody could be listening, including a certain green fairy who could kill me in a matter of seconds.

"A book of secrets," Dastan whispers. "sounds like a treasure." He cracks a smile.

I hit him again. "This is no time for jokes." I say. "It's for The Fairy."

"Malificent?"

"Dastan, I'm serious. You know who The Fairy is." I give him a look. "I need you to help me trick them. They want to kill her."

He suddenly gets very serious. "They need the book to kill her," he whispers, the words hanging in the air.

"Yes," I say, glad that he is finally coming around. "We need to stop them. Make a fake book, capture them, whatever it is you do."

He grabs my shoulders. "Are you positive?" He asks.

"I'm dead serious!" I shout.

No sooner does Dastan get out his phone. "We're gonna need some back up," He says.

I smile, I've always wanted to hear that.

Well, maybe not if it means I have a group of villains on my bad side.

But it's still pretty cool.

I get back up.

Ha, and he thought I was making this up.
