Chapter 6: Names

"...So why is mine is the burnt one?" Shinpachi asked with his eye twiched, staring at the charcoal fish.

"Because you're special~" Souji replied with his mocking smile.

"Was that supposed to make me feel better?!" He said, irritated. "No way! I'm taking Heisuke's fish!"

The door to the dining room (AN# is that what they call it?) slides open and the trio stepped in along with Kuroiichi!

"What about mine? Back off from my food, Shinpachi!" Heisuke rushed over to save his meal.

Hijikata just ignored their antics and let the little ravenette down. He already stopped crying but his face is still red and flushing. Hijikata sighed, honestly he didn't know how to handle kids nonetheless comfort them so Hijikata just kindly patted his head.

"...Boys shouldn't cry.... unless it is a tear of joy," he said simply.

Souji looked at the duo strangely. "Hmm? What are you guys doing? OChibi-chan why are you crying?"

The others instantly looked at them.

"Ah! Hijikata did you bully him?" Sanosuke accused.

"No I didn't!" Hijikata replied, eyes closed with a tick mark on his head.

"Ma.. just sit down and join us," Souji said, smirking.

The little male hesitantly took a seat between Heisuke and Sanosuke. The most reassuring and less scary people. Both of them gives him a warm welcoming smile, some what calms him.

"So then"

They all said 'Itadakimsu' and began eating.

Shinpachi had given his fish to Kuroiichi... with intention to take Heisuke's later.

Chibi started to flustered seeing Hijikata glares telling him to eat too.

He shakingly holding his chopsticks. He started with the rice, picking it up a little at a time (Like eating one grain at a time) but still being a bit panicky and rushing. Few times, the chopsticks almost slipped  from his hand.

Seeing this, Heisuke sweatdropped.

"Chibi... how about you calm down a bit?" Heisuke said.

The boy looked up, eyes wide.

'Was I being inappropriate? Did I hold the chopsticks wrong?  Was I supposed to eat the fish first? Or the soup fist? Was it the way I sit? Or was I holding the bowl wrong?'

The boy suddenly panicked.

Seeing this making the brunette captain sweatdropped again. "Um, never mind... just eat like you want," Heisuke said suddenly feeling some what guilty.

Chibi nodded and continue eating his abnormal way, now eyes nervously looking around the room.

'Now what?' Heisuke thought. "What's wrong?" He asked.

"Um... Kido-san?"

"Huh? Kido?" Heisuke thought for a moment "Ah! You mean Koudou-san? He's not here. He had some business to take care of with our lieutenant, Sannan Keisuke... you never met him before."

"...  when is he going to come back?"

"Dunno, maybe two or three weeks," Heisuke said.

"... Why do you ask?" Hijikata who's silent before, finally spoke up.

The boy was more flustered. "... I want to ask him s-something."

"What is that?"

He thought for a while before looked up again. "My.... position, conditions,  t-the rules of this place... and w-when is m-my death sentence...," he said nervously.

Hearing this the captain stopped eating abruptly, only Sanosuke and Souji suddenly choked on their food.

'Oh crap..' they both thoughts.

"Death sentence?!" Heisuke shouted, shocked.

"Oi,oi, we just saved you why would we want to kill you?" Shinpachi asked.

"Eh? But Ou-... Souji-san said-!"

Sanosuke already covered his mouth before he could say another word.

"Ahaha! I see you're still half-asleep," he nervously laughed.

"Come to think of it, we still didn't know your name, right?" Souji said, changing the subject.

"Name?" The boy looked at him" .... but  I don't remember.."

"Then pick a new temporary name," Souji said.

"Ohh! I like that idea!" Heisuke said. " Then I choose, Tobira!"

"Then I, Sakana!" Shinpachi picked.

"... Ocha," Saito said.

"How about Tatami?" Sanosuke asked.

"Gohan," Souji said.

"Tobira is better," Heisuke huffed.

"I think Kuro.... no, wait, Nigoukuro!" Shinpachi exclaimed.

Kuroiichi only meowed. "Meowww~"

"You guys just randomly choose whatever in front of you eyes, right?" Hijikata sighed.

Heisuke turned to him. "Then Hijikata-san, what'd you choose?"

"Huh, me?"

Hijikata glanced at the chibi and the others expectantly looks.

"Probably...."

They lean in closer to hear.

"...It's best if we asked the person, himself"

They sweatdropped then turned to the said person.

Chibi instantly paled under the stares and started to panicked.

'No... he couldn't decide it either...,' they thought.

"Ah! I got it!" Heisuke shouted suddenly.

"Then, how about we call him Yuki?"

"Oi.. oi... Isn't that a girl's name?" Shinpachi-san spoke up, shaking his head disapprovingly.

"Huh... like Sakana or Nigou is any better," Sanosuke comment.

"Picking a name isn't easy!"

"No, it fine! Besides it's better than just calling him 'you' or 'chibi'..  or Sakana."

"Hey!"

"At least until he remembers his own name, don't you agree, Yu-ki?" Heisuke said to 'Yuki', ruffling his hair.

Yuki tilted his head. "Yu... ki?"

Tobira- door

Sakana- fish

Ocha- tea/ green tea

Tatami- is a type of carpet(?) they use on the floor

Gohan- rice

Kuro- black, so basically Shinpachi wanted to call him black because his hair black but seeing there's also Kuroiichi which means Black One, he randomly put Nigou which means 2 or second. So Nigoukuro mean Second Kuro or Second Black. (LOL)

How was it? After a long break ( actually a long month of torture ) I guess I kinda having a hard time continuing this. Comment me how'd you think and tell me if you had any ideas for the next chapters.

I'm wanna keep it light and fluff stuff before opening the drama curtain.. also, because I was being lazy ( sorry!) and like messing around haha!
