Sannan is in a dream.
That he knew.
It happened before. This feeling. The world. Seems fabricated from reality. Different in a way he couldn't understand. Yet, it wasn't real and feels like an illusion.
Did he fell asleep? When?
He didn't realize.
He must've dozed off when reading the files.
Files on Yuki.
On the other childrens.
He can't believe he'd actually fell asleep when doing something important. Then again. Everything that happened had taken a great toll on him. He knew so much stressful thoughts and worries had filled his mind to the point he felt twice the amount of tiredness then usual.
There's so much to think.
He felt like his brain had too much input. With too little conclusion and solution.
He's tired.
It was too much.
Learning the new information on Yuki. He knew when the others comes back later they'd doubt Yuki again.
The uncertain fact Yuki might had gone off to the enemy. To Kuroha. Might sets off him as a spy or accomplice. They both had too much connection and motives to do harm to both Shinsengumi and Chousou.
Sannan didn't know what to do.
He was drawing a blank.
Yuki and Kuroha. They were both victims. And it would've make sense if they resented those who had stripped away their freedom. Those who had wronged them. Treating them like a lab rat. A living experimental subject...
But... Yuki..
Sannan gripped his hands till his knuckles turned white.
He recalled their first meeting. That child... bruised, bloody and broken. That's.. that's not an act. That's not a lie.
That child. Everything about him screaming at him. Screaming for help. He cried. How many times he had cried? As he was physically abused. Treated like some kind of animal. No, worse then that. Sannan already read, part of the things that were done to him. To say it was inhuman was an understatement. It was downright sick and cruel.
These children.. they needed someone. Someone to protect them. Someone to side with them... Someone to hold them...Someone... Someone.. just anyone...
But it was too late.. they died...
Just like that...
Until the end... they didn't have that one person... someone..
Sannan knew that life is a fleeting and fragile little thing..
Now, there is... only Yuki and Kuroha left..
And Sannan want to be that someone for Yuki..
He didn't know if it's just guilt or pity. But he just couldn't look away from that child. He didn't care if it's just simple human heart conscience. He already decided to stay with Yuki.
Yuki.
Sweet little Yuki.
He was probably long to reach out for someone. Reaching out those small hands. To call out for someone...
But...
There was no one for him to call out for.
He didn't... He didn't have anyone.
