Not good enough

2. A date?

Sunday :7pm

I awake ,realising that I fell asleep. I get up and choose the most simplist outfit , which was a sundress and a full body coat that I bought to hide the bruises. I slowly unlocked my door, knowingly if I wake up my dad , we would give me another torture filled day . I didn't even see him yesterday when I came home and I didn't hear him in the house this morning. I grabbed an apple and ran out the door with my purse , my father never cooks or buys food , so we only had an apples.

I began to walk near Jake's house.

"Hey , I was gonna wait outside for you" he tells me then takes my hand and interwines it with his hand ,then we start to walk down the road .

"I thought I could be a bit earlier, anyway w-w-where would you like to go ?" I asked him nevoursly.

"umm, we could go the mall and watch a movie then we can go to a restaurant for dinner, catch up and get to know each other . How does that sound?" he suggests , I thought it was the perfect idea

"That sounds really good." I tell him.

*10 minutes later*

We got to the mall and both decided to watch the same movie and the whole time we were there we held hands and shared popcorn , it felt like we were dating  but we weren't , maybe he is trying to make me fall in love with him , I guess. Ugg stupid girl thoughts.

It was weird though, is this what happens when you meet a girl , you ask her out?

When the movie ended we both decided on this terrific restaurant , they had the best food , I haven't had this kind of good food in such a long time.

"So tell me about your family" I tell him trying to not make things awkward .

He stays quiet for a while then finally speaks.

" My dad is in Europe , my mom stays with me every Monday but then has to go back to work , which is 5 Hours away from where I live, so we both decided that since Sunny Highschool has good education , I might as well live by myself. It goes well , we don't really have any issues .  I came here to find a house of my own , while my mom lives far away. " he told me with assurance , if he is honest with me , should I tell him about my 'family'?

"What about you?" he adds .

"My mom ... she ran away , I don't know where, and I never saw her again , she left when I was 10, my dad well his job was a fraud and it didn't pay the bills and he became an alcoholic , and then he started..."

"abusing you?"he replies in the middle of my sentence.

I stay quiet for what seem liked hours, I looked up to see Jake with his head down , I grab his hand and assure him, " he doesn't even hurt me Jake , don't worry about me I will b-"

"No , No I am sorry but no , you can't live with him anymore, he is hurting you , why dont you do something." he looks at me with serious eyes.

"I can't do anything , I have no where else to go , no one to stay with , and Beth  knows its dangerous for her if my dad finds out."

"Then what if you live with me ? I mean I got to know you today and you seem someone who is trustworthy and Beth has told me all about you, I know you really I do , and if you say yes , we both will be happy again." his eyes sparkle up looking for hope.

Should I say yes? I mean I just go to know about him ,but he .. he ... he can take care of me , he can protect me , no more hiding , no more bruises , no more pain , just happiness.

The thought of everything made me tear up , I am going to be happy again , and I won't be sad anymore.

" Yes , yeah sure why not ." I tell him he gets up to hug me , which is odd, I'm not used to this kind of thing . " We can go home now , and we'll pack your bags and you can then move out." he adds

We walk out of the restaurant and onto the side walk

"But wait isn't this to sudden , I mean I just spent one day with you?"I question him.

" I know ... but the sooner you are out of that hell hole , the better things will turn out for you ."

And with that he convinced me , we left and headed back home , it was all sudden , but I knew it would bring me happiness
