She sits and watches
Them argue about her
School
Clothes
Band
And art
As if she wasn't even there
In the room, sitting and watching the scene unfold
Like she was invisible
Her words drowned out
By their constant shouting
Until they agreed that she
Had to go away
Because the cost of keeping
A broken doll
Was far too much
Words hurt. A person learns how to talk by the what is said around them; they learn self-esteem the same way.
