Note- For the effect I wanted, you can play the song at a certain part where it's said to be played. If you don't want to, well it's all of anyways.
************************************Usually people always say, "midnight phone calls are the cutest" or "you can call me at anytime and it wouldn't bother me." I like to classify myself as not that kind of person at all. Maybe by Eva or Teyla, but that's a maybe, anyone else would just get their head ripped off. Seeing as how that's impossible, settling for pulling their hair out seemed like a good idea as well.
I groan and roll over to aimlessly look for my phone under my pillow. The screen was lethally bright that it burned my eyes for a second and of course my ringer was all the way up, causing me to tap frantically, even though I was half asleep. I keep my eyes shut, its too damn early into the night to have them open. When I finally manage to answer the call, I sigh and unplug it from the charger to be able to listen to the person on the phone.
For a second all I hear is rustling and thinking it was accidental, I'm about to hang up when the sound stops.
I finally look at who called and its Arden, at 2:14 am. I sigh trying to concentrate on what he's saying.
"I thought I could handle this. She just had to fuck me over. I just wish I had known before so I wouldn't have to deal with all this shit."
His voice was so raspy as if he was screaming, or hasn't used his voice in a while. It was so raw of emotion I couldn't help but to sit up and look around my room for my wallet and keys. Yes, I planned on sneaking out to see Arden, but hey, teenagers do this kind of stuff in movies and it seems cool to do. I don't care if its past my driving curfew, Arden was crying, and this never happens.
"Arden what happened?" I ask softly trying not to alert him.
I hear him swallow down a sob I'm guessing then he starts explaining everything that happened. His girlfriend had just called him up to say she didn't want to deal with him anymore and she wasn't that interested in him anymore.
I mean anyone could clearly see she wasn't that interested in him.
Before I had mentioned that Arden was sticking to sluts, but that's when they broke up. They're an on and off relationship that drove me up the wall.
Arden had started dating this girl about 4 months ago and he was head over heels for her. He would spend all his time with her and his friends would start noticing how he started fading from the group. The said girl, Crystal, would often ignore him or just use him for school stuff or getting certain things. Those things were drugs mostly, if not then food because duh.
Back then, Arden use to live on the bad side of town and lets say he was under the influence of bad decisions. He turned to drugs and was often running away from the police because of stupid things he did with his friends. Eventually he met new people and moved on from that and moved away from that side of town, but he still keeps in contact with those old friends occasionally.
Crystal would spend her time with her friends trying to withstand weed, provided by Arden and his friends, or hanging out in her friends house watching some scary movies.
I've grown to hate that chick, and told Arden things wouldn't work out well, but he promised me he wouldn't let himself be used. Now here I am, trying to calm him down over the phone at 2 am.
"I shouldn't have let myself get so attached to her, everyone told me to not get close and I did like the bastard I am."
I grab my sneakers from under my bed and slip them on before returning to find my keys. "Woah, woah. Chill. I know lots of people warned you, but you just had to hear it yourself from her."
