Seaglass was definitely memorable.
The group and I sat on this picnic table that was conveniently there. We settled down and watched everything around us.
"It's so nice here." Teyla sighs. Eva and I nod in agreement. She leans her head on her hand, looking at the woods.
"I like it better than home." Kendall comments.
"True." Eva and I say in unison, then cringe.
Too similar.
I catch Kendall looking at Eva longer than needed and then looks away.
Damien wraps his arm around Teyla and continues talking to the guys like nothing.
Damn I'm real single.
Vanessa informed us earlier that she had a friend around this area and was going visit her for a bit and then eventually pick us up around 11. The most mature person had left us to fend for ourselves. Something will go down for sure.
I look at my phone to check the time and if any messages came in.
Arden: Your mom told me you were in New York for the weekend
Arden: And you didn't even bother to invite me 😒
My conversation with him in the hall about tree houses comes back to mind. Whoops.
Me: We all can't get what we want
I begin checking other social medias before another text comes in.
Arden: Maybe I wanted to spend the weekend with you
Which would probably consist of us binge watching Harry Potter for the umpteenth time.
I was about to respond when my phone got snatched out my hand. My head snaps up to see Ashton checking my phone and then throwing it back at me.
"Quit texting your boyfriend and let's get a move on." He rolls his eyes tosses my phone back.
I notice the others already walking away with their food.
"He's not my boyfriend." I mutter angrily while following the others.
Me: I'm starting to want that too
Down the path, we neared the main road that separates land from water. That's when we all made eye contact and started sprinting to the other side.
A dock for boats were empty. Perfect.
We all ran towards the dock that's slightly slippery and ended up with Eva falling on her butt near the edge.
"Idiot." I joked while helping her up. We all looked out to the water taking in the sunset.
"England is just a few miles across the water." Ashton mutters behind me, his voice a lot closer than I expected.
"We could just steal a boat and sail to England." Kendall adds on. I give Eva a look of confusion about the guys. She shrugs in return.
The sun gradually gets lower, above the trees behind us, painting the sky with pink, dark blue and lavender.
"Across that water is all of Europe and Asia, land we've never seen." Teyla says. I nod and think about all the people on that side possibly thinking the same.
Serenity spreads through us all, the sky and thoughts leaving us in awe. A warm presence stands next to me, throwing an arm over my shoulders.
"Who would've thought we'd be in New York together watching the sun set by a dock without fighting but for fun?" Ashton whispers in my ear. His breath tickled my ear making my neck twist awkwardly and look up at Ashton.
