***Penny***
I can't even believe this is happening. It's my fault too, stupid green wire, everyone forgets the green wire.
Oh, wait. I'M NOT EVERY ONE, I'M A FREAKING GENIUS!!!!!
Stupid Penny, stupid Penny, stupid Penny. I would be slapping myself, but I'm in handcuffs.
"Penny, what are you thinking about?" Sophie asked.
"Why this is happening." I replied, "What are you thinking about?"
"Sherlock, in the finale for season 2, I'm wondering if you would ever do that."
I managed a grin, "Sophie, I'm not a high-functioning sociopath."
"But you are a-"
I kicked Sophie before she could say something that would damn me, "We are in a police car, Soph."
"Right, sorry."
***Nadia***
This is just wrong, I should not be in a police car right now, and not with band geek.
I didn't even do anything. I swear I didn't.
"Nadia?"
"Shut up, don't talk to me." I replied.
"Whatever, Sassy-pants. I was going to ask you if you were okay, but I guess that's not important to you."
"Well, I apologize for being an ass. I'm fine, how are you?"
"Honestly, I miss my trumpet, but that's not especially important right now, seriously, I just don't want to get in trouble."
"That's understandable."
Just at that second, I kicked Alina.
"OW!" she shouted. "What was that for?"
"It was cover for me unlocking my handcuffs." I replied casually.
***Max***
They didn't give us lollipops. That made me sad.
So now I'm in the back of a squad car with Louis, trying not to freak out.
"Max, calm down. You're hyperventilating." Louis said.
"Sorry, I'm just a little freaked out right now. I don't want to go to jail."
"It's not that bad, trust me." Louis replied.
"How would you know?" I asked.
Louis looked uncomfortable for a second, "Never mind. I have no idea what jail is like. Go ahead and freak out."
I started breathing heavily again, then heard a small pop as Louis's handcuffs unlocked, he reached behind me and quickly picked mine.
I turned, gave Louis an apologetic face, and punched him.
***Sophie***
"Oops, that wasn't supposed to happen." Penny said in her most satirical voice as she held up her handcuffs, unlocked.
She smacked me.
The policeman driving pulled over to the side of the road and they got out of the car. I glanced over my shoulder and saw that the other two cars were doing the same.
"Ready?" Penny asked, "You're going to have to run again."
"I'll be fine." I replied as they opened the doors.
Penny and I both kicked the officers in the chest and jumped out of the car. Nadia, Alina, Max, and Louis had all done the same. We grabbed our stuff, stood there for barely a second, and bolted. All in different directions. Since it was Halloween, most people stayed off the streets. We were near an intersection, so Penny and I each west south, Nadia went east, Alina went west, and Max and Louis went North.
***Louis*** Twenty minutes ago.
"Everyone listen." Penny said, in the few seconds left to us, "Take these hairpins. Pick the locks on the handcuffs, it's not that hard. Get in an altercation with whoever is in the car with you. When they open the doors, injure them in a way that is temporary. Grab your stuff and run, split up. Don't get caught. We'll meet up in twenty minutes. I'll text you where."
***Max*** Now.
I turned right, Louis turned left. I wound through the street,s through crowds. Anywhere. Ten minutes later, I was sure that I was safe.
I had gotten to a suburban area with plenty of trick-or-treaters. I followed a group I blended in with and pulled out my phone.
Meet at the school, I'll open the gates. -Penny
I closed my phone and took of in the direction of the school.
***Penny***
I somehow ran into Louis and Sophie on the way to school. We were running together when I quite literally ran into a pair of trick-or-treaters. I can usually tell what people are dressed as, but these two made mo sense. The boy was pretty much red, and the girl was wearing tattered shorts and a tribal print shirt that was also pretty tattered.
"Oh, sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going." I apologized.
"Oh, it's fine." the boy replied, bending down to pick up his phone, which had fallen.
"Kai, we have to go." The girl said, pulling his hand.
"Oh, Kai," I said, "Cool name. Did you know that means-"
"Come on, Penny!" Sophie shouted before I could finish, "Let's go before you scare random people!"
Sophie dragged me away, with Louis following.
