***Nadia***
"I checked out the statistics. We're going to lose." I said into my phone.
"Yeah, but we still have to go," Alina replied.
"But there's no point, we're not even going to be performing." I whined.
"Just shut up and stop being annoying." Alina hung up.
"Geez, that was obnoxious." I said to no one. Then I remembered that I probably shouldn't get mad at Alina. She was probably irritable for some reason I hadn't caused, and I should just ignore her insults.
***Alina***
I don't want to go to the game, it's going to be a slaughter.
***Louis***
Yeah, this is going to be fun! Even if we lose, it'll be fun!
***Max***
Sure, I'm going. I'm taking the bus with another 249 students. Maybe I'll just nap.
***Penny***
My mom is forcing me to go. That's not true, I asked to go. But she's torturing me by "cheering" for the other team.
***Sophie***
Eh, I've been to all the games. Why skip this one?
***Penny***
"They're kicking our asses! Can't a just leave?" I shouted over the roar of the crowd.
Sophie shook her head, "Don't be a coward, Penny!"
"I'm not being a coward. I'm making a tactical retreat." I replied, crossing my arms.
Louis patted me on the head, "Come on, Penny, just a couple more minutes. Then you can leave."
Sophie tapped Louis on the shoulder, "I'm hungry. Do you want to go get food?"
Louis nodded, and the two turned and exited the stands, avoiding stepping on as many people as possible.
Max turned to me, "I'm going to get food too."
I nodded, "Okay."
He left, and I glanced over at the clock, five minutes left before the game was over, and I could go home.
I watched the last seconds count down on the clock, and the other team erupted into cheers. Louis, Sophie, and Max hadn't come back from getting food. I escaped from the stands while our team was singing the alma mater. I loved the alma mater, actually, but I just really wanted to leave at this point.
I followed the flow of the crowd, but skipped off into a corner to wait for my parents.
Someone tapped me on the shoulder from behind. I jumped, because I wasn't expecting someone to be there. I turned, and something hard, maybe a fist connected with the side of my head.
I was out cold before I hit the ground.
