Chapter 8: Tuesday

***Alina***

"So, how was your time off?" I asked, I was the last person to sit down at the table.

"Great." Was the general reply.

"Any specifics?" I asked.

"Not really." Penny said, "Most people don't want to go into detail about their weekends, I'm not one of those people, but you would all yell at me to shut up after about thirty minutes of constant yammering."

"Oh, okay. So, what's our next clue?"

"We haven't gotten it yet." Louis replied, "Unless we have gotten it."

Each of us shook our head in turn.

The bell rang just then.

"Okay, guys, check back in at second break." We all went away to our second class.

***Nadia***

I was sitting in algebra when it came.

The next clue. To me, of all people, it came to me. Why would it have come to me. None of this makes any sense. I don't get it, what's going on?

It was in an envelope with my name on it.

"Nadia, this is for you." the teacher held it out. I got to my feet and walked to the front of the classroom. I took the envelope and went back to my desk.

I slowly opened the envelope and pulled out six pieces of paper.

"So, did anyone get a clue?"

Nadia raised her hand, "I might have. It got delivered to me during class."

Nadia handed the envelope to me, "They're tickets, to the fall play this weekend. Six, one for each of us."

"What time?" Penny asked.

"Saturday at 8." Louis answered, but then stopped, "No, we get to go in pairs, two a day. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The clue is some kind of puzzle that we have to put together."

Penny had a look on her face I was beginning to recognize. She had a hunch.

"Penny, what is it?" I asked.

Penny glanced up, "There's something symbolic about the play. My sister Jill is in it. I'll need a copy of the script, but I'll figure out what the symbolism connecting us and the play us."

"Okay, we'll leave you to do that. You have until Friday to figure it out."
