***Louis***

Penny was back at school the next day, and our next clue arrived during the last class before lunch.

I was in the middle of Chemistry when my phone beeped. Dr. G gave me a withering stare, but didn't bother giving me a detention because my phone was in my backpack.

I tuned her out and focused on what was happening with Mr. B. It didn't really make any sense. We were the Holmes Club, dedicated to studying crime, and our moderator got kidnapped. The interesting thing was, it wasn't even a traditional kidnapping, there was no ransom demand, just clues we had to follow to find him.

I decided not to say anything about my theory until it was fully developed, the others didn't need to know just yet.

***Sophie***

We sat at the table at lunch, Louis read us the clue, and I watched Penny out of the corner of my eye. Her behavior interested me, not your typical quiet nerdy type. She was really loud. All the time.

Right in the middle of Louis's talking, Penny started coughing. I patted her on the back, "Are you okay, Penny?" I asked. We were all watching her with concern on our faces.

She stopped coughing, "Yeah, I'm fine. I think I accidentally ate some hand sanitizer."

We all started laughing, "How exactly did you manage to eat hand sanitizer?" Max asked.

Penny shook her head, "I really don't know, but I really need water now."

Max handed her a bottle, and she drank about half of it in one go.

"Wow, Penny." Nadia said, shaking her head.

"Louis, can you start over? I was really distracted the whole time. Probably why I ate hand sanitizer."

Louis nodded, "Basically, to sum up the whole text, what we have to do is find ADI. Where ever this guy, Michael Carter, worked."

Penny nodded, "Okay, shouldn't be that hard, right?"

Alina looked up, "Yeah, but I'm somewhat familiar with that particular company. It's not based anywhere near here. The closest office is in Northern Oregon."

Max dropped his face into his hands, an unnatural display of depression from such a hyperactive person, "We're never going to be able to find Mr. B."

Nadia shook her head, "Guys, you're underestimating us, we just have to find a way to get to Northern Oregon. That's all we have to do. It'll be a piece of cake. I mean, we're high school students."
