Chapter eighteen

"Scottie you're not going to classes today and that's final" I told him, everyone was up and getting ready to go to the only morning classes they have to come back a few hours later but the last couple of days Scottie has been feeling a little under the weather and only now it's getting slightly worse to the point that any fast movement can cause him to almost throw up so I'm forcing him to stay home and since I don't have classes at all today I thought I could stay and look after him until the others get back after classes to go to the nearest chemist and get some tablets for him to take

"Snow, I have to go to class, I have a test coming up that I need to study for, I can't stay home" he said trying to tell me that he wasn't going to stay home

"Scottie, I mean it, you need to stay home, I'll call your teacher and say that you're sick and not coming in and one of the other can pick up any work that you miss" I told him, he groaned but fell so he was, once again, laying down on the bed

"Fine, but only for today" he said agreeing

"Now go back to sleep, I'll go ahead and call your teacher so she can have the work ready then I'll get you some lunch for when you wake up" I told him, he nodded agreeing with me without a fight which is a first but I didn't argue instead I just kissed his forehead and walked out of our room closing the door behind me then continued walking towards the kitchen which is next to the front door where everyone else was already standing their putting their shoes on

"Hey shortstuff, if we somehow get sick today, does that mean we get the special treatment like Captain does" Wayde said smiling at me cheekily, we've properly been going to uni for 2 or 3 weeks now but we came up with nicknames for each other and apparently my nickname for Scottie, Captain stayed but now I got another nickname which you heard was shortstuff because out of everyone in the apartment, even though Evie is my age she's like 6inchs taller than me which is unfair in my point

"No Scottie's her boyfriend, of course he gets the special treatment" Evie teased

"Don't forget I can easily tease you with wanting my help to get tog-" I was cut off when Evie placed her hand over my month, and it is true, Brody and Evie are now together and have been since the graduation dance Travis, Cruz and I held and that was also around the time that Travis and Cruz got together as well. Nessa has a massive crush on a guy that goes to our uni but he's one of those people where they like to study and hardly talk to anyone but it's cute because I see them talking every time I walk past them in the halls, Layton and Wayde are still looking for a special someone but Layton's still upset that I got a boyfriend before him even though he is the oldest but I keep noticing that one of my friends Alice Hoston has a little crush on Wayde and she's one of my closest friends that I've met on campus and she's gets along really well with Evie and everyone else in the apartment. And another one of my new friends, Jaidyn Creaser smiles and blushed (quite easily) every time she sees or ever time Layton is close or even in the same room and I have to say but my friends chose good

"No-body needs to know about that" Evie tells me as she removes her hand but then finds everyone else looking at her and she gives in "alright, alright, shortstuff her and captain helped me and Brody get together and she also helped Travis and Cruz get together" she blurted, they all turned to me to see my side of the story

"Yes, we did help you get together because if we didn't them you wouldn't be together tight now" I told them and they all thought about it for a second before they agreed "alright now, I need one or two of you to go to Scottie class and pick up papers when you're all finished and I'll also have lunch ready by the time you all get back" I told them

"I'll go, my class is right next to his" Cruz said putting his hand up

"Alright have fun and don't forget that we have to go home tonight for family dinner at Scottie's and mine" I reminded them, shortly after that they all headed off to class. Every Friday we go back to Scottie and my place for dinner with all of our parents, which means in short terms that everyone bring they bathers and we all have a BBQ outside since my parents took down the fence that separates mine and Scotties house. I walked into the living room where I pick up the campus phone off the charger and call Scottie's teacher, which I believe is Mrs Wade

"Hello, this is Mrs Wade speaking, who is this" she said answering the phone

"Hello Mrs Wade, my name is Winter, I am one of Scottie Pierce's roommate's and I was calling to tell you that Scottie is quite sick and will not be coming to class today" I informed her

"That's alright, tell him I hope he feels better soon, do you need me to send the missing work to him" she replied

"No, one of our other roommates will come to your class when their class has finished to pick up" I said

"Alright well have a nice day" she said

"You too" I replied and before I could move she hung up. I moved out of the living room placing the phone back on the coffee table and went into the kitchen, I put the kettle on and placed some broken up chicken (from last night's dinner) and some corn (also from last night's dinner) into a bowl for Scottie while I put a little salad together as well as put some potato's into a pot on the stove and waited for it to boil.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------Don't forget to comment a question and I'll make an u[date with all of the comments.
