Childhood Best-Friends

Chapter five

Indeed it was as well, we won 8-2 against the Lilydale high but today, Monday, is my first day or school so all three of us were getting ready, I knocked onto Scottie's door seeing as he was still in there getting dressed, he opened the door dressed in some jeans and a tight blue V-neck shirt "what did you want, Snow" he asked in a gentle manner

"I heard about these sort of stories and I just wanted to as-" I didn't even get to finish as he interrupted me

"I won't ignore you at school" he said smiling down at me, my cheeks started to go red so I looked down but he placed his hand under my chin lifting it up again "just tell me if someone is bothering you, alright" he said, I smiled at the fact that he was acting really protective over me

"I will" I promised, I grabbed his sleeve and started pulling him towards the door "now we have to go to school" I said

"Alright" he agreed as he started walking towards the door, we both grabbed our bags and other stuff and headed out of the door closing it afterwards seeing as dad, Parker and Dawn were still in there getting ready. There was a group of boys waiting for us when Scottie parker the car at the school but I noticed that the boys were just the hockey team so as soon as Scottie parked the car I was out and already walking over to them

"Hey munchkin" they said in sync

"Hello boys" I replied excitedly

"So we have another game this Sunday, are you coming" Luca asked

"Of course, because I'll be helping with warm-up's" I said, they all smiling shyly and blushed a little just as Scottie decided to walk over

"Look Scottie, their blushing" I replied looking at Scottie while pointing to the boys, Scottie shook his head smiling at me while all of the boys groaned and turned to Scottie

"Scottie keep munchkin here under control" Sean said while the rest of the boys agreed, I pouted but still replied

"B-but you all looked so cute when you're blushing" I said still pouting and looking between all of them and Scottie

"Scottie!" they all groaned, Scottie nodded and moved so he was behind me and raised his hands so they covered my mouth, I pouted again as they continued talking but then thought of something to get me out of Scottie's hold, I leaned my mouth into his hands and licked them. He removed his hands and wiped them down on his jeans while I laughed

"That's gross" he said, I continued laughing as the others were just starring at us

"What did she do" Max asked

"She licked my hand" Scottie said, all of the boys started laughing at him so I turned onto them

"Don't forget it was you who wanted him to shut me up because I made you all blush" I told them, all their eyes widened and shut their mouths

"I think I just found my new best friend" I turned around and found a girl around my age standing behind me with a boy next to her but considering they have similar features they must be siblings, I gave them a smile but the girl spoke again "I'm Evie and this is my brother, Travis" she said, ah so they are siblings

"I'm Winter, I'm Scottie's best friend" I said

"You mean Scottie as in Scottie Pierce, the captain of the hockey team that won the game against Lilydale high last night" Travis said, I nodded a little scared of where he got that information from

"My older brother is gay and proud so don't be scared when he says stuff like that out of nowhere" Evie said, I smiled and gave her a nod then turned to Travis

"Got any crushes" I asked and by the way his cheeks turned bright I think the answer is yes. I started jumping up and down in front of them "who is it, who is it" I said

"Shh and we'll tell you" Travis said placing his arms on my shoulders to stop me from jumping, after I had calmed they both took a deep breath

"I have a crush on one of the guys on the hockey team" Travis said

"Well I could only think of a few that I think would be guy but are too shy to say it aloud" I said "so which one is it" I added, he murmured something but I didn't hear it "sorry I didn't quite get that" I told him, he signed and took another deep breath

"Cruz, I like Cruz" he said a little louder but I heard it because I started jumping up and down again

"Scottie and I could get the two of you together" I told him

"As long as it's not that obvious" he said, I nodded

"Come on, snow, we have to get you to class" Scottie said

"Alright coming" I told Scottie before turning back to my friends

"Hey, Halloween is coming up next week, maybe we could all go trick or treating together" Evie said

"Hey can we make a pack that we all have to dress up as a superhero" Travis added

"Yea, I'll see if I can get the team to agree with that as well and we could all go" Scottie said from behind me as he was listening in on the convo, I said goodbye to my new friends and walked into the school with Scottie beside me

"Hello I'm here to collect my friends timetable, her name is Winter Larson" Scottie told the person behind the front desk, dad knew that I didn't want to be a part of their family by having their last name forced upon me so they made Larson my fake last name and saying that I live with him and Debra because I'm still trying to find a place AND because I'm underage

"Yes, I have a timetable as well as a map here but she has at least one person that can keep her company" the man said

"Thanks" Scottie said taking the two pieces of paper and walked more into the hallway

"Hey Winter" I turned around and found Evie running after me shortly followed by Travis "what classes do you have" she asked, I handed her my timetable as she stopped in front of me "cool you have first period with me and Brody" she said blushing a little, Travis looked at my timetable over her shoulder and smiled when he noticed something

"You have second with me and Cruz" he said blushing a lot

"Then you have the rest of the 4 classes with me" Scottie said swinging his arm around my shoulders.

"So I see that we finally got munchkin to myself, since Scottie's always near or around you" Brody said as soon as he walked in the door sitting down next to me with Evie on the other side and I didn't notice the blush on her face when he winked at her or the smirk on his face when he saw that he can make her blush

"Well considering Scottie's been my best and only friend since I was really little and I suddenly moved into his school, I wouldn't be surprised that he acted the way he did" I said

"well I can see where he comes from, Travis was really protective when I started my first year here, it was really funny for a few weeks but then it got annoying but now after 4 years, I'm sort of used to it" Evie said

"Scottie and I have known each other since I was 6 so we basically know everything about each other and he's always been protective of me" I told them, just then the teacher walked through the doo making all of the small talks stop

"I have been notified that we have a new student today, uh Winter Larson can you please stand up" the teacher said, I did as she said "I'm miss Park and I'll be your art teacher for the rest of the year, can you tell us a bit about yourself" she asked

"Uh my name is Winter Larson, my best friend is Scottie Pearce, I was always moved around with my parents until they moved here because of their work" I explained remembering the story mum and dad told me to tell to the people at school if they ask to tell about myself.
