It had been during the day when I decided to explore the outside facilities, but one particularly caught my attention. Just after a few steps my ears perked up at the sound, making a smile dance on my lips my walk immediately breaking into a run.
The stables didn't take long before they came into sight, running straight through the large doors. I was met with neighs from many horses with were put in their individual stables. I went to them one by one, taking my time to pet they're nose. But there was one, larger than the others who was left at the very back, in its own special stable from the main building.
I stood still, tilting my head to examine he's eyes. He's fur overall was a strange shade, not bad of course. It wasn't white, it was almost grey but then again it might be my eyes fooling me, but it seemed as though he's fur was almost blue. It was the same with he's eyes, a very dark colour but with the hints of different shades of blue. He was simply enchanting.
I stood still not wanting to disturb him but yet he did the same, he didn't make a move but watched me. He was left free in the large stable giving him more space then others and I mesmerised by him didn't realise so when I stepped inside the door, shutting it behind me.
Anyone would feel nervous and scared, being locked in a stable with such a large animal. But me ? I was somewhat drawn to him. I left him come to me if he wanted to, not invading he's space. Which he did, slowly and hesitantly stopping just a few inches in front of me. I felt the need bowing before he's presence, to show my respect towards him. And to my own surprise he did the same.
My hand reached out to him, leaving him snuggle he's large nose into my palm before I brushed across he's large head and down he's neck. I smiled stepped closer, feeling he's acceptance.
"Dominance." I glanced to the side where he's name tag stood out in gold, the name was unusual but fit the horse perfectly.
He turned he's body away from me, taking a few steps before stopping before something. I tilted my body trying to see and him clicking he's hooves against the floor and jerking he's head made me think he wanted me to see. Moving closer to him he's nose nuzzled against a leather saddle which sad on top of a wooden gate.
"You want to go for a ride ?" I smiled resting a hand on he's neck before grasping a hold of the heavy saddle.
I learned to saddle horses at a young age, my father had taught me as he worked at the stables bringing me in nearly ever day. I still remember every thing to do like I've done it yesterday, but years have passed. Soon he was fully strapped and secured, taking a step back to take a full view. To my shock he kneeled down, gesturing me to sit up and I did as If he asked me with words.
The light breeze passed through the skirt of my dress, swaying my hair to the side. I smiled taking a deep breath of fresh air, feeling finally free. I left him take the guide instead of the other way around, leaving him show me the beauty of the land that belonged to Alpha Nathaniel.
I noticed the sun setting but that didn't stop me, us from taking a little more time exploring. This horse was the first friend I made here, not counting Aunt Ammelia. But a part of me knew this horse was just ordinary, it had a bigger meaning to him.
