Random Bar
That Night...I'm at a bar. I got angry and sad that I went to a bar. I don't care right now about anything. All I want to do is drown out all the feelings that came over from when I talked to Stark and Piet earlier today. I have on a white loose fitting tank top under a leather jacket with a pair of black skinny jeans and heeled boot type of shoe on.
I don't know what the hell I'm going to do for the rest of the night besides drink. I snuck out so hopefully no one notices I'm gone. The new AI that is subbing in for a bit while Tony is fixing Jarvis, asked me where I was going and I told it to shut up and don't tell the team I'm leaving. So that was a good first impression on the back up AI.
-----
I sit at the bar drinking my second glass of scotch that is almost done. I wave the bartender over.
"Another please." I command, he nods while throwing the white towel over his shoulder and grabbing my glass.
"This is your third glass," He points out with a sweet southern accent while pouring the bar's own brand of scotch into the newly ice cubed glass. "I know this too well, so let me guess; boy trouble?" He assumes sliding the glass back to me.
I chuckle while lifting the drink up to my lips, "Partially." I say before taking a sip, he raises an eyebrow at me.
I set down my drink, "What I'm drinking for is stuff about my past... which includes boys."
"Please feel free to elaborate more" He assures noticing my hesitation. "If you don't mind, of course."
"Well," I take a deep breath while thinking about it for a moment. People usually talk about their problems to bartenders so why not. He seems like a good guy. "I've haven't seen my dad in a while and I've had some emotional problems in the past. He wanted me to tell him about it and I did. But it recovered some memories and I just wanna block them out... again."
"Where do the boys come into play then?"
"I have to live with seven guys."
"Aw." He nods. "Sausage fest?"
"Yes." I nod sliding the drink between my two hands. "And it's only our second day living with them." I scoff.
"Our?"
"My friend moved in with me." I finish the rest of my drink. "Now. If we're done talking, I would like to get shit faced and regret my whole night." That made a few heads turn, especially guys' heads turn. I look around at them before sitting up from my seat a bit and leaning towards the bartender. "Please make sure I don't end up going home with one of them."
"Will do." He smiles as another man waves him over, he does as so. A few seconds later he comes back to me with a drink. "This is from the gentlemen over there." He gestures towards the guy he was just talking to. I look over to see a brunette with a bowl hair cut smile and wave at me, I smile and wave back.
"Seriously please don't." I beg.
"Don't worry, hun." He sighs. "Back where I'm from, we wouldn't let a sweet little lady like you go home with an ass like that." He winks.
"I'm not tipping you." I say bluntly.
He laughs. "Just trying to be nice."
"No you're flirting for tips."
"Maybe I am, maybe I'm not." He shrugs. "Either way you wouldn't be able to come home with this."
"Why?"
"Because I'm married." He holds up his ring finger hand. "And gay."
"Ahhhhhh." I nod. "Veronica." I extend my hand out to him.
"Chester." He shakes my hand.
Hours Later
Tiffany's POV...Veronica has been in her room for the last 5 or more hours. I'm getting a bit worried, I haven't bothered to check up on her because I know to let her calm down on her own before initiating any contact. So it's about time I initiate contact.
-----
I get off from my seat on the couch in the tower's main living room where some of the Avengers are sitting. What I mean by "some" is that Bucky, Natasha, and Steve are training with a somewhat newer recruit named Falcon or Sam; Bruce and Tony are still in the lab; Thor is some other country with his girlfriend; Wanda is not in the living room part of the floor, she is in the kitchen area with Pietro; so it's just me and my father in the living room.
"Where you going?" My dad asks changing his focus from the tv to me.
"Check on Vern." I respond walking past him towards the elevator. I guess that caught the attention of a certain speedster since his head snaps my way.
"If-if you want I can go check on her." Pietro offers. "I know you've been comforting her and making sure she was fine since Hydra so you probably want a break, no?"
A smile finds its way across my face as I turn to face the twins; Wanda is smirking while eyeing her brother a bit and Pietro scratching the back of his head.
"Sure, speedy." My smile turns into a smirk. "Go ahead." I gesture my hands towards the elevator. He smiles and speeds to the elevator. "Just don't be an ass." I warn, he gives me a really look.
=====
Sorry for the delay on the update and the short update. I couldn't figure out an idea about how I should go about this chapter and I've been having conferences and a lot of homework at school lately. Also because I ask my friend what I should update and she's been saying Avenging\Book 2 the last few times. I also was working on Avenge which I should hopefully writing for soon.
Plus, my Grandma is coming on the 22nd so just a heads up in case I don't update a lot around that time and the next week since we have to clean the house and make sure everything is all spiffy and tidy for her. This weekend might lack in a little in updates too since the last few weekends I've been hanging out with friends and stuff.
