Bea's Story

"There was this girl..." panimula ni Bea, "a girl?" Den asked while smirking. "Oh! I'm sorry. Are you offended Ate Den? You're a firm believer of the 'natural'? Oh my... I'm so..." Bea was almost shouting na nakaagaw naman ng attention ng ibang nagdadasal doon. Bea just let out a peace sign to them while smiling. Den let out a soft giggle. "Relax Bei, I'm not all out for the natural. You can go on. I'm listening" sabi ni Den reassuring Bea that it's okay with her.

"Uhmmm... okay, so there was this girl. She was a friend of mine. We both took up Medical Technology for our Pre Med. I remember the first time I saw her. Her porcelain skin, her Asian eyes, her rosy cheeks I know in that moment, I wanted to be her friend... for that moment, just a friend." Den can see the glimmer in Bea's eyes while talking. Bea on the other hand was all caught up with the memory. "I can clearly remember the first time we talked to each other." Sabi ni Bea without looking at Den.

Flashback (BeaDdie - First Meeting)

"Excuse me. Excuse me. Makikiraan lang po. Excuse me" said the girl habang pumapagitna sa kumpulan ng mga tao. It was her first day of college and she needs to look at her schedule. Di kasi available yung schedule nila, kailangan mo pa hanapin na Department bulletin boards.

"Ugh! This sucks" sabi ni Bea sa sarili habang pinagmamasdan and mga tao sa harap ng board. Bea let out deep sigh. "Hayaan mo na silang magkagulo. At least, we have a reason to ditch first period di ba?" Sabi ni Bea sa babaeng pilit na nakikisiksik sa kumpulan ng mga tao. The girl slowly raised her head and looking intently at Bea, she points herself, giving Bea the 'are-you-talking-to-me' look.

Tumayo ng maayos si Bea galing sa pagkakasandal sa pader at lumapit sa babae. "Bea, Bea De Leon." introducing herself confidently. "And you are?" sabi ni Bea while extending her hand para makipagkamay dito. Hindi naman siya pinansin ng babae kaya binawi niya ang kamay niya at pasimpleng ikinawit sa batok niya "owwwkay" awkward na sabi ni Bea.

Bea didn't notice it pero napasmile ang babae sa asal nito.

Nung konti na lang ang natira sa harap ng board bigla namang nagsalita ang babae na ikinagulat ni Bea. "Maddie. Maddie Madayag." Sabi nung babae ng hindi nakatingin kay Bea. Busy pa rin ito kakacopy ng schedule niya sa bulletin board. Napangiti naman si Bea, she was so engrossed in watching Maddie habang kinokopya ang schedule nito. Taas baba kasi ang ulo nito para tumingin sa schedule tapos yuyuko ulit para isulat ang schedule. Bea took notice of her porcelain skin, her eyes, and her rosy cheeks again. Di siya nagsasawa sa kakatingin dito.

"Bea right? Tapos ka na?" sabi ni Maddie while writing the last few words sa notebook niya bago tumingin kay Bea. Agad namang nagpanic ang huli, ayaw niyang mahuli siya ni Maddie na natutula dito. Nagbubusy busyhan naman agad si Bea "Ah eh, oo tapos na ako" sabi ni Bea at agad na tumalikod para di mapansin and pamumula nito.

When Bea got over from the blushing she immediately faced Maddie again. "So, anong first subject mo?" tanong ni Bea. Agad naman siyang tinignan ni Maddie giving her the 'close-ba-tayo' look sabay balik ng atensiyon sa munting notebook na nasa kamay niya. Psssh Bipolar ata sabi ng isip ni Bea.

"Psssh maganda sana, masungit naman," bulong ni Bea sabay layo ng tingin kay Maddie.

"May sinasabi ka?" seryosong tanong ni Maddie.

"Wala. Akala ko magiging mabait ka na." panunuksong bulong ni Bea.

"What?" tanong ulit ni Maddie na panay ang silip sa cellphone niya.
