"LA? The 'LA REVILLA'? Multiawarded PBA Player?" Sabi ni Bea while doing a quotation with her sauce covered fingers. Dennise just gave her a nod.
"Wait, wait, wait. You told Ate Ella on that same day that you are whipped for Alyssa tapos biglang kayo na ni LA? How did that happen?" Tanong ni Bea while licking her fingers.
"On that day... I thought Ly and Kief became official. I didn't know what to do. I was so caught up by my emotions kaya tinawagan ko si LA" sabi ni Den while playing with the chicken bone on her plate. Bea remained silent "Never make decisions when you're sad or angry Bei, you might lose everthing with just a word" dagdag pa ni Den. She shifted her head from the chicken to Bea. The latter just looked at Den with sad eyes.
"Ate Mary! Pahingi po ako ng bill." sabi ni Den while waving her hand. Kinukuha niya yung atensyon ni Ate Mary. "Hey, why the sudden change of mood Bei?" sabi ni Den.
"Naah. This is nothing. Nakakalungkot lang isipin na, when you're not ready, you have all of the opportinuties in the world to tell a person you love her or him pero kung saan handa ka na, doon naman di pwede" sabi ni Bea sabay inom ng tubig niya.
"Ganyan talaga ang buhay Bei, unending cycle of 'love barricades'" sabi pa ni Den.
They stayed quiet for a while which is unusual pero the silence gave them comfort. Ilang minuto pa ang nakalipas at dumating na si Ate Mary dala ang bill.
"Magkano Ate?" Tanong ni Den na nakatingin na sa bill.
"364 lang Den" kinuha ni Den ang wallet niya. She was about to pay when Bea interrupted her giving Ate Mary a 1000php bill.
"Keep the change Ate. The best chicken inasal... EVER!" sabi ni Bea with a huge smile on her face. Den is a little shock but she smiled it off. Habang naguusap si Bea and Ate Mary, Dennise excused herself para maghugas ng kamay. Sa may wash area, may lumapit kay Den.
"Pumupunta pa rin ho siya dito" Dennise was pulled back to reality when someone apperead beside her.
"Caloy..." yun lang ang nasabi ni Dennise.
"Napapansin ko nga pong nagmamasidmasid siya sa paligid. Tapos na nga po siyang kumain pero tumatambay pa rin siya rito. Ikaw ata ang hinihintay, Ate." Sabi ni Caloy while smiling at Den.
Den felt herself blush at the thought pero she quickly shook herself back to her senses "Well, I hope someday mapagod siya kakahintay sa akin" sabi ni Den kay Caloy at agad tumalikod sa binata. Alam niya sa sarili niya na hindi totoo yung sinabi niya kay Caloy. She's dying inside.
Nakayukong bumalik si Den sa table nila. Napansin niya namang tapos na magusap si Bea at Ate Mary, may customer kasi sa may cahera. "Ate Den. Teka lang ha? Ako naman ang maghuhugas ng kamay" sabi ni Bea at tumayo na para maghugas ng kamay.
Dennise was about to sit when her phone rang,
Phone conversation
Den: Hello? Ma?
Mama: Dennise, anak, kumain ka na ba? Inaalagaan mo ba ang sarili mo?
Napangiti ng kaunti si Den.
Den: syempre naman po.
Mama: Anak, tandaan mo na mahal kita, okay? Enjoy your day, be good with your patients. I love you, anak.
Den: Yes Ma. I will. I love you rin po, kayo ni Papa. Please tell him I love him.
Mama: Will do, anak. Bye
