Chapter 17 (End)

"How's my lovely Doctora?" Alyssa said with glimmer in her eyes.

What's happening to Alyssa? Lasing ba to? Maaga pa naman ah Dennise told herself as her eyes went wide because of Alyssa's gesture considering the fact that Alyssa still haven't moved an inch after that kiss on the cheek.

"Hello. Earth to Den?" Alyssa said as she was waving her hand in front of Dennise. "Alam ko maganda ako, Den. Wag mo namang i-boost lalo yung ego ko sa hindi mo pagimik jan." Alyssa said with a chuckle.

Dennise straightened her seat as realization took her. "Hindi ah. Ang baho mo kasi. Lasing ka ba?"  Dennise said as she was moving away from Alyssa.

"Hindi ah!" She straightened her posture as well. "Amoy ng happiness yan, Den." she said with a cheeky smile.

"And why are you happy?"

"Kasi nanjan ka." Alyssa said softly as Dennise' cheeks went flustered.

"Uy nahihiya siya." Alyssa said while poking Dennise' sides tickling her.

"Stop it Alyssa! Nasa simbahan tayo."

"Harsh mo naman." Alyssa paused. "Teka. Pray muna ako ah. Wag kang aalis jan." She said while leaning down.

Dennise has no plan on staying longer with Alyssa. Although she has longed for Alyssa, still, who knows what she'll do inside the Church, packed with people and the good vibes - on the mood Alyssa is with her. Dennise was about to stand up when she heard Alyssa prayed out loud.

"G, sana naman po kahit ngayon lang pakinggan na ako ni Dennise. Sana po wag siyang tumayo at sana hintayin niya ako."

The last four words seem to have a different tone in it. It seems that Alyssa said it more meaningfully than she did with the others. Dennise chuckled and sat back down beside Alyssa. She noticed peeking a look with her closed eyes and smiled. When Alyssa finished praying. She sat back down. Took a deep breath and looked at Dennise.

"Ly... Wh"

"I talked to her." Alyssa said while looking at Dennise but the latter didn't seem to understand who the former was referring to and she noticed it. "Your Mom, I mean. Tita Arlie. I talked to her."

Dennise was a bit shocked by this. She can't believe that Alyssa was able to face her Mother. "What happened?" She said.

"I was at... at Marlo's. I brought him flowers... Talked about.... Some stuff" Alyssa said as she was putting hernleft hand at her nape.
"Then Tita Arlie caught my attention. Nandun na pala siya sa likuran ko."

(Flashback when Alyssa and Arlie met in the graveyard)

"Tita..." Alyssa said. Nervousness evident in her eyes.

Arlie just stared at Alyssa for minutes before a soft smile was plastered on her face. "What are you doing there Alyssa? Di ka ba magmamano? Di mo ba ako yayakapin?"

Alyssa was in all honesty shocked about this. She knows that Den's mother doesn't like here. Well, doesn't like here when they started having special feelings for each other that is.

"I don't think that's necess..." Alyssa was cut off.

"Alyssa Valdez! Lumapit ka rito at magbeso ka sa Tita mo!"

She was so shocked that she stood up immediately from her lotus position giving Arlie a light hug. Like mother, like daughter, Alyssa said in her mind.

"So what are you doing here Alyssa?" Arlie said in a serious tone.

"Dinadalaw lang si Marlo, Tita. I'm about to leave actually. Mauuna na po ako." Alyssa excused herself as she was about to pass Arlie and going back to her car.
