"And what's the little Lizzy up to?", said Simon as Elizabeth continued finishing up her doodling she did during History lesson. He knew she was the best target to aim at since he liked how she responded by giving a glare.

The class had their recess break awhile ago and were waiting for their next lesson. Just two more periods and it was History. Elizabeth still could not get over the incident between Mr. Matthews and her. She knew it was totally wrong to throw herself on him and straight from the face, she knew he did not wanted it. Elizabeth needed to apologise to him.

------

"So class, make sure to complete your research on Cold War and you may be dismissed.", said Mr. Matthews. Soon, the class immediately got up and walked out of the classroom. One of the students could be heard saying, "Balik kampung! ("Go home!" in Malay)".

Having to ensure no one else is in the classroom for consultation or chit chat with Mr. Matthews, Elizabeth slowly made her way to him with words at the the tip of the tongue. "Mr. Matthews, can I have a minute with you?", she said to which he nodded.

"I am sorry about what happened that day.", Elizabeth continued. "Don't really know what came to me..."

"You can addressed me as Richard since this is not a school hour.", Mr. Matthews/Richard interrupted. He knew she was going to talk about that particular incident. "It's alright, it's normal for people to initiate that. Let's talk somewhere else."

------

"Coffee or tea?", Richard asked.

"Tea, thanks.", Elizabeth answered and he went straight to the counter to ordered food.

After ten minutes of queuing, Richard came back and took his seat which he found Elizabeth studying the view outside the cafe (again). "What do you see out there?", he asked.

"Beauty." was all she could replied. Beauty is such a strong word. Beauty of nature? Birds? Trees? Flowers? Richard found it puzzling. "Beauty in what sense, Elizabeth?"

"The sky is blue. The houses are painted very colorfully. Children over there laughing as they played with their mother and father.", said Elizabeth. "Those children, innocent and pure. Future lies ahead of them. Pity them."

"So you saw the beauty of life. Human interaction.", said Richard. Elizabeth was astonished by the level of interaction with him. What made him so special, even her friends or classmates could not be compared to him.

"Life has many definitions. Life can refer to animals being capable of reproducing, eating, drinking, interacting. Animals grow and die. Life can be a newborn. Life is related to religions. Everything, depends on what you want to hear or read.", said Elizabeth, stirring her teaspoon.

"Life as you know it, comes in different ways. It doesn't have to come from Merriam-Webster Dictionary or Dictionary.com which you, bunch of students love to use at crucial times.", said Richard. "You like cookies, basketball or whatever, you can defined it as life. Life comes in forms you choose to paint, Elizabeth."

Richard soon proceeded to clap his hands, how amazing it was to hear such a person who believed he or she is capable of being wise and well taught. "You are wise for a young girl like yourself.", he said, gazing into her eyes.

"How about we finished up the food and experience life."

------

It was already dark when Richard and Elizabeth arrived at the nearest beach to enjoy the breeze. It was the first time Richard ever brought someone to the beach since his loved one. There was something special about Elizabeth that he enjoyed her presence.

"The beach is lovely.", said Elizabeth who spread her arms as she feel the breeze. So cold yet enjoyable. Suddenly, another hands joined and wrapped around her waist.

Richard looked at her, "You are just as lovely as the sea."

------

Well I hope you are feeling the breeze as much as Elizabeth and Richard do. It reminds me of The Neighbourhood's The Beach from their latest second studio album, Wiped Out!. If you haven't listen to it, I recommend you should. I attached the YouTube video of the song here. :)

Oh well, stay tuned to another chapter!
