"Morning, Elizabeth.", Father called as Elizabeth entered the living room. A stain from the cup of coffee could be seen on the front page when she entered and her father hold up his newspaper. But it wasn't the coffee stain that caught her eyes.
"TEENAGE BOY DEAD, BODY FOUND ON SHORE.", the headline stated on the front page. Elizabeth's mind went blank, she could hardly stood still. She found a seat right next to her and thought about last night. Everything came to her like a waltz.
------
"Are you sure of doing this?", Elizabeth asked Richard as they dragged the dead corpse towards the shore. "Trust me, I know what I am doing." They then proceeded to placed some stones in the pockets of the boy's pants.
Once Richard deemed the body to be perfect, he and Elizabeth then again dragged the boy into the deep blue ocean. As they took a step back, the water did all the work and the boy disappeared from the Earth.
"Once I settle everything, we will be together forever and always.", Richard said and kissed Elizabeth softly like it was the last goodbye.
------
"Lizzy, are you listening?", Elizabeth looked up and saw her father's serious expression. She zoned out while he was reading what the newspaper said about the recent teenage boy's death.
"According to the newspaper, boy was found dead with apparently stones in his pockets. Authorities believed that the killer may have wanted to sink his body. It is also believed that the boy might have committed suicide.", Elizabeth's father repeated what he read. "The boy, whose name was John Shelley, last had a heated argument with his father, Mr. Shelley over school matters."
Elizabeth was relieved, maybe Richard knew this deceased boy well after all. Committing suicide was a good cover up of what actually happened last night and she decided to keep it that way. "Okay, go on.", she told her father.
"Authorities can confirmed the boy's time of death was roughly estimated around after midnight or to at least 12.21am.", Father read. Just as he wanted to go on, his expression changed and looked at his daughter. "Wasn't that the time you roughly got home?"
Elizabeth's father took off his spectacles and placed it on his coffee table, replacing his hand with a cup of coffee. "Strange, isn't it?", he squinted.
"Yes, sure is."
