"Yes, I knew she was with him.", Elizabeth said, eyes were already filled with tears she couldn't hold back. Her heart was already stabbed many times, just by looking the photos. She felt she was already murdered.

"Here.", Miss Geraldine offered a packet of tissues. Elizabeth wiped her tears that were already overflowing. She looked at Miss Geraldine, whose expression was filled with concern and worries.

"Do you know why I needed to tell you this?"

Elizabeth shook her head.

"I was just like you. Smart, clever and always interested in school, especially History.", Miss Geraldine said. "One day, there was this teacher, newly transferred one, took over my class. Girls were wowed by his charismatic good looks. So did I."

"I was completely charmed by his personality until the end of the lesson. We did like what you and Richard did. Hang out, consultation and then all these led to sexual advances. I lost my virginity to this man."

"What happened?", Elizabeth asked.

"Everything came to an end when I realised the truth of the man. He was married and had two children. I let the truth off, but honestly it was wrong.", Miss Geraldine said with a slight hesitation.

"Elizabeth, what I am trying to tell you is that you are still young and there is still life out there somewhere."

"You don't deserved that kind of man.", she paused. "Oh yes, your mother, Amelia, in case you did not know, she died the same day she left the house."

"Lost control of her driving, causing herself to fell off the cliff. Richard was there, according to his statement, he was supposed to meet her for a... A particular surprise."

Elizabeth was shaken by the words, analysing closer on her mother case's file. Mystery and lots of happenings were clouding her good sense of judgement. She tried to hold back her fear, sadness and asked, "What surprise?"

"We found a box with a diamond cut ring in it."

Elizabeth was done with the interrogation and the small chat with Miss Geraldine. The session was filled with mixed feelings and she, herself, found it horrifying. The truth had already hit her so hard, the man she thought she once knew was supposed to propose to her loving late mother.

Just as she almost left the building, two police officers were grabbing the man she just instantly knew somehow. Richard was arrested from his house, after Elizabeth explained about the circumstance of John Shelley's death. Whether it was the right thing for her to do, even Lady Justice can't helped balance the truth and lies.

I love you, Richard mouthed as walked through the hallway, being handcuffed and guided by two police officers. Elizabeth turned back and saw his expression which once felt so familiar.

Now, all she saw was just either a reality or illusion.

A once bright heart that is already submerged into the deep, blue ocean. The more she was submerged, the more she questioned.
