It was extremely quiet on the island. He had been here before, during a rescue mission to save his good friend, Hayate. There were so many people on the island at that time. But now it's dead silent. Literally.
There were corpses scattered around the island. Some looked fresh... others looked like they've been eaten awhile before he came here.
It made him feel sick.
One corpse in particular, held a familiar scent. It wasn't anyone he knew though.... he felt a breeze and heard Rin's laughter again.
"You know I'd love to eat you, but you caught me at the end of my feeding."
"You ate these people?!...that is.."
"Disgusting? Yes... I wouldn't be caught dead eating the likes of these people. I just ate what I needed to get their souls." Rin licked her lips hungrily. "These souls!! Such agony!! It drives me crazy! The souls of the dead drive me wild!"
"You are insane, Rin"
She laughed. "Don't say that Kaida wasn't. She killed herself to save the life of a ninja... who's life has been marked since his birth." She pointed her sharp nail at him. "You will die Hayabusa! Maybe today or tomorrow... but you will die... in my hands"
With that she disappeared. Her laughter filled the dark sky, as Black Spider ninja appeared before Ryu. He sighed and took out his sword.
One ninja suddenly unleashed its talons and attacked the other spider ninjas. As it killed the last one, it took off its mask.
It was a woman. She had black hair and dark eyes. The ninja she attacked stared at her in shock. "Shi...Shigemi... why?"
She sliced off his head and walked slowly to Ryu. He aimed his sword at her. "Who are you, Shigemi?"
"A friend... kind of. Come, we will talk inside."
Once inside, Shigemi sat down, murmuring something. Ryu stared at her in wonder. "What are..."
Shigemi opened her eyes. "I'm making sure no one's around." She stood up. "I am Shigemi Yagami... Part of the Black Spider clan... Kaida... I knew her..."
Ryu widened his eyes. "What?"
She closed her eyes and ushered him to her. "I think you need to sit down"
