Chapter 21- The Gothic Castle

"Is this the place?"
"Yes, Master Ryu." Shigemi looked up towards the dark, looming castle that towered over them. "This is where Volf rules his turf. It's such a beautiful building." They started walking over the bridge. "I came here once when the Black Spider Clan tried to take an artifact from in here. Memories."
Ryu was silent through all of this. He was alert through the entire trip.
It was fine with Shigemi speaking about her past. He did not mind that. What he disliked was the fact she easily lowered her guard, but her instincts were in the same level of a wolf. That was one of the only reasons he kept her at his side. The other reason, was her power. Her invisibility spell proved useful, and she could fight as well as him.
The last reason, was because he reminded her of Kaida.

Volf spied on them from the top of the castle. As the Dragon Ninja broke the door open with his fireball, the Greater Fiend laughed. "Finally a worthy opponent has entered my castle. Excellent. He shall be given the warmest of welcomes."
He spread his arms out and yelled. A whirlwind came out of his chest, shooting up towards the sky. It turned the sky into the color of blood. Howling followed the change, and Volf sneered.
Rin appeared then, her eyes shining with worry. "What have you done?! Your monsters will turn ballistic. This wasn't the plan, Volf." Her feminine hand twitched and began to turn into talons. "If you are defying our purpose and trying to..."
Volf brushed her away. "Now now Rin, you may be the Princess. But, this is my property, and I don't like the fact of you trying to protect him." Rin's face whitened, and her eyes dulled. "You dare think that?!" She lowered her head, then she began to laugh hysterically.
"Kill him."

Shigemi grabbed Ryu's sword and threw it up into the air. Before he could say anything, she hushed him. Her hand glowed a lime green color and so did the sword. Shigemi closed her eyes. "Flick your sword." Ryu stared at her oddly but did what she asked. As he flicked the sword, a harsh vibration came from it.
The sound wasn't noticeable to them, but he could feel the strength of it. The lycanthropes did as well. They howled in pain as each creature crawled out of their hiding spot. Shigemi stopped the spell, and Ryu ran to his sword. Both ran into the castle, weapons ready.
Shigemi grabbed her flails and began slashing all incoming fiends. As she was fighting, Ryu noticed the larger lycanthrope in the room. He was sitting silently on the throne, smirking at the Dragon Ninja noticing him. Ryu beheaded an incoming werewolf and began running towards the leader. Shigemi unleashed a ninpo called Spirit Fish. They were carnivorous fish made out of chakra that only attacks a certain target species. They attacked the lycanthrope.
As the fish fed themselves, Shigemi caught up with Ryu. They both stopped in front of the leader, Volf. He chuckled at the sight of them. "To think two pitiful beings like yourselves are able to come to this place. You are worthy of praise." He pointed to Ryu. "Male, I have created an arena befitting a duel to the death, and she cannot help you there." He looked at Shigemi. "Have fun with my pets." The floor under her disappeared, and Shigemi fell. She did not expect it, so she could not evade the trap. Upon hearing a faint splash of water, Ryu sighed.
Volf snickered. "Come we will fight out here."
