Love is Deception

Chapter 19- Lycanthrope's Realm

The day was bright in Vienna. Being one of it's warmest days, people were all over the city. Lovers were in the small shops and cafes.  Tourists were in boats, taking their best shots of the cathedral. Everything was fine, until the werewolves appeared. 

It happened rather quickly. A man was walking to a flower stand, ready to buy a rose for a bypassing woman, when a lycanthrope appeared from nowhere and ripped apart his throat with its large canine fangs. The woman screamed and tried to run away... But humans are so slow. 

The werewolf slashed its claws at her back, killing the woman instantly. Bystanders heard the screams and saw the grotesque scene. They, too, screamed also, as wolves appeared from the tunnels and cathedral.

Ryu was in Sonia's room at the time... At least he was guessing it was her room. It appeared as if she hasn't lived in the home for while, since there was dust in all the rooms. He heard the screams and looked out the window. The sight did not faze him, but it did to Sonia. 

She gagged and walked off to the restroom. Ryu sighed, wondering what he had done to end up having a weakly minded woman like her as a partner. A thud sound came from the corner window then. He went to it and saw Shigemi. She was fighting off lycanthrope with Kaida's scythe. Though she was strong enough to carry it, she did not have the strength to use it during combat. 

He opened the window and jumped out, landing on top of a running werewolf. He grabbed an Incendiary Shuriken and stabbed it into its throat, kicking it away from him. The creature exploded into chunks of massive flesh, making the other lycanthropes scatter away. 

Shigemi lowered her mask and bowed. "Ryu Hayabusa... you left me in New York"

"You could handle yourself Shigemi Yagami." He lowered his mask then. "What happened?"

She kicked the severed head of a dead lycanthrope away from her. "These beings... They're Kai... Rin's creation. I followed their plane to here. I saw Rin slit her wrist and drip her blood into the sewers. This massive lycanthrope appeared, along with these things. Her blood made them insane... Wanting to kill and find someone who can kill them." She showed Ryu a gash in her collarbone area. 

It was fresh. 

"He's strong. I barely escaped. You can kill him though"

Ryu nodded and took out his Dragon Sword. "And Rin?" Shigemi tucked the scythe away, knowing what he meant by 'Rin'. "She is with that lycanthrope leader. They're making more and more of these creatures... and no not in that way... They share their blood and more of these monsters pop up.... The cathedral is North of here. I've got your back... let's go"

A small man walked up the steps of the cathedral. He was accompanied by two werewolves. They saw him with armor and a sword, and they spared his life. They hoped the man could entertain their leader for a while. The man was short, had nicely trimmed brunette hair, and carried the eyes of an arrogant character. He believed nothing will happen to him just for carrying a sword. But that isn't always the thing. 

You have to know how to use one. 

Upon entering the cathedral, the werewolves ushered him into a room. The room was filled with at least 50 lycanthropes. At the center was a throne, and sitting on the throne, was a werewolf. He was much larger than the others. His eyes were golden and he had by his side, a scythe. It wasn't like Kaida's, which was about 6 feet high with a 3 foot blade. This blade was at least 10 feet high with a 5 foot blade. Kaida would've marveled at such a weapon. But instead, Rin was her, and she was more interested in the human that appeared before them. 

He appeared to have shriveled up at the sight of the large lycanthrope. The two werewolves pushed him into an open space in front of the leader. It snapped its claws and a werewolf came out of a door. It was ravenous and seemed to have not eaten anything. Rin chuckled as the scent of urine came from the man's trousers. 

The werewolf charged at the man, who tried his best to block the charge. He stumbled back, slashing his sword at the creature's head. When he tried to take it out, he fell. The werewolf's stomach growled, as it plucked the sword off its head and buried its mouth in the man's intestines. The man's screams were drowned by the howling of the audience. 

The leader sighed loudly. "This bores me."

The two werewolves ushered slowly away. 

"So fragile.... humans are....so... WEAK!!!!!! I can not stand another moment of this tedium!!! You will find me a worthy adversary!! YES!! You will find an opponent worthy of I!! Volf, Greater Fiend and Ruler of Storms!! Accomplish this, and you shall be made ruler of this land!!!"

The room became loud with growls and howls. They all ran out the door, each fighting each other over who will get the prize. 

Volf groaned in annoyance. "Even my minions are weak."

Rin stood up from sitting at the windowsill and walked to him, poking the spikes protruding from his back. "Well... I can make them stronger. Just say the word, I'll put more of my blood in you, Volf."

Volf snickered. "You expect that will work? They will only bring me weaker and weaker humans."

"Not exactly."

"What do you mean?"

"I got the scent of an extremely powerful man... A man who killed the Holy Vigoor Emperor and destroyed the Dark Dragon Blade. He weakened Alexei."

"Alexei is a joke. He is a demon who acts like a human... disgusting"

"And pitiful... yet... this man can kill you"

"Why do you support this man so well?"

"....It's because of him, that I almost didn't get reincarnated."

Volf looked toward the empty room. "Very well then, Princess." He bit open his wrist. "Give me your blood." Rin smirked, slitting hers. "Of course."

My bad for not updating this story for awhile. I wanted to work on others and I got sidetracked. Then I ended up forgetting what happened after the New York scene, so I ended up replaying the entire game hahaha!
