Love is Deception

Chapter 13- Fiend's Heart

Ryu shot an arrow at the forehead of the monster. It hit directly at the center, to only be sucked into its head. It growled softly, as if it were taunting him. Ryu didn't like that.
He charged at the monster, taking out his Dragon Sword. He could almost hear Rin speaking:
'So now my creation is worthy of the blade? '
He stabbed the sword in the monster's leg, dragging out, thus severing it's leg. It growled loudly, trying to smash it's hand onto Ryu. He dashed off to side and sliced off its arm.
It screeched and grabbed onto Ryu's body. He kept stabbing his sword into its arm, as the monster swallowed him whole.

From somewhere in the sky, Elizébet and Rin flew. Elizébet was in her fiendish form.- Her hair was white and sticking up, her body was red with her dark veins jutting out, her talons and claws were outstretched, and her dark red moth wings flapped around behind her.- It is the only way for her to fly.
Rin was still in her semi-human form.- her dark bat wings were behind her, flapping, her fangs replaced her teeth, and the dark purple aura surrounded her body- She blended with the darkness, a trait that was enhanced by Kaida's kunoichi skills.
"Mother... should we let him live?"
Elizébet frowned at her. "Rin... why would you say such a thing? Are you not pleased with his death?"
"Honestly mother... I am not... I've wanted to kill Hayabusa with my own hands. And seeing a monster of my own creation kill him does not sit well with me"
Rin's mother grunted. "Fine. You do what you wish. You always have anyway... kill him... and do not fail me"
"I'll kill him when I believe he's gone too far"

Ryu couldn't see anything. It was dark inside the monster's mouth. It felt lonely again... like that time when he saw Kaida die. He felt.. alone.
The darkness then, was suddenly pierced by a blinding light. As he saw the light, he felt his feet land on the stone of the bridge. The monster was cut in half, with its head torn open.
As it fell back into the ocean, a figure appeared behind it. It was Rin, staring at her monster with a bit of a shock. "I thought you could kill it... I guess not..."
She flew then- up into the sky. As she looked down on him, he noticed something in her eyes. It was quick, like a flick of a flame. Her eyes were Kaida's. Not the cold dark eyes Rin has, but the warm caring eyes Kaida had even during her death.
"Kaida..."
Rin's dark cat eyes appeared again, staring at him with fear, he thought. Or perhaps in wonder.... He wasn't sure. But he remembered her eyes even when she disappeared into the dark sky.
"Ryu!!!!"
A bright light shined on him. A loud swishing sound came from the sky. A chopper... from where?
He squinted his eyes to see Sonia. She was piloting the chopper, getting close enough to see Ryu face to face.
"Take my hand!"
Ryu grabbed onto her hand as she brought up the chopper to the clouds.
"How bad is it?"
"Fiends are everywhere"
Sonia flew the chopper towards the Atlantic. "The Statue of Liberty! That's the source of all this... There's a powerful fiend there!"
A powerful fiend... Ryu thought it was Rin. He could finally finish her and end this...
Sonia brought the chopper close to the island, making the landing gear graze the ocean.
"This is as far as I can bring you."
"It's fine"
He jumped off, landing on the turf of Ellis Island.
