The silence washed over us, until a timer dings and the eldest stands up. "That would be the spaghetti!" He walks to the kitchen, leaving me and Liam alone. Automatically, the beta looks at me.
"What happened?" I raise my eyebrows in question, and he sighs. "Why didn't you go?"
I shrugged. "I can't change my mind?"
"But why did you?"
"Maybe I was scared." I lowered my voice as Mr. Geyer walked back in, with a bowl of spaghetti.
He set it down in the middle and held up a finger. "I have salad and garlic bread, I'll be right back!" Then, he dashed into the kitchen yet again.
Liam caught my attention yet again. "Look, I'm sorry. I just didn't expect to see you, that's all. How did Scott take it?"
"He said it was fine. Not like he wants me fighting with assassins anyway-"
"What assassins?" My eyes widened as Liam's father came in with two separate bowls, placing them down and sitting in his chair. While me and Liam shared nervous looks, he served himself.
"Uh," the beta said, looking at.
"We are a part of an online gaming community that battles mythical creatures and there are assassins that try to kill us." I lied.Liam backs me up. "Yeah, yeah. My name is Werewolf and Madison's is Hunter."
I try not to roll my eyes.
"Oh. Well, those are some creative names. How did you come up with them?" He asked, now interested.
"It just sort of came to us." I said. Desperately wanting to change the subject, I look at the food. "This looks delicious."

Liam came into his room, closing the door. I sat on his bed for the past twenty minutes, as he helped Mr. Geyer clean up for dinner. He stands in front of my awkwardly, then moving to close his closet, which was stuffed with junked.
"Sorry. Didn't think it would take long." Liam mutters, sitting next to me.
I shook my head."I could've helped."
He let's out a sarcastic laugh. "Funny! My dad would kill me if I let a guest help. So what do you want to do?"
I shrugged. The only friends I would hang out with before moving back here were girls. Unless Liam would like to gossip or do each other's hair, we really have nothing to do.
"Video games?" He suggested.
"Well, I don't know how to play. But I guess I could try. I'm picking it though!" I crawled over to his TV stand, grabbing a game that had a werewolf on the front, and what looked like hunters fighting it. When I showed it to Liam he laughed.
"Funny. But don't get mad when I beat you." He sat next to me on the floor, and grab two controllers. Liam handed me one after putting the game disc in the console. We sat up against the bed, our knees touching.
"You do know that if I can easily kill you in my sleep in reality, I will own you in a virtual world, Dunbar." I said cockily, while the game started.
He smirked, shaking his head. "We'll see, Argent."
;;
Liam was a cheater.
Okay, he probably wasn't, but I was losing! So what other explanation is there? I'm a skilled huntress (yes, I know in training) who was born to kill werewolves! How can I take one downso easily in life, but not in a stupid video game!
