"Here," the beta muttered, pulling off his hoodie and handed it too me. It was cold outside, yeah. But then he'll be cold, and I'll feel guilty because I know once I pull that hoodie on, there's no chance of him getting it back.
So instead I shook my head. "No, I'm fine. Scott will be here soon." But Liam rolled his eyes, draping it over my shoulders. I smiled slightly, and said, "Thanks."
He nodded, and stuck his hands in his front pocket, rocking back and forth on his heels. I awkwardly looked the other way, wondering where the hell Scott is. He can never arrive on time.
"So, if you want, you can borrow my notes for last hour. I noticed you haven't been going to class then." Liam said, trying to break the silence. I knew he just wanted to know why I haven't been in class.
"Yeah, I've been leaving early. Algebra just seems irrelevant when you have a dead aunt who wants to kill your friends running around." I let out a small laugh to lighten the mood, but it doesn't work.
Liam nods his head and looks the other way. He sighs and scratches the back of his neck. "Look, Madison. Please just don't be angry with Scott, I mean, I didn't tell you either."
"Yeah, but you thought I knew. So in a way, you're innocent, Liam." I point out, touching his arm lightly.
"True. But-"
"Mads!"
The two of us look up to see Scott on his bike, with a helmet in his extended arm. I sigh and reluctantly shake off the cozy sweater and give it back to its owner. Liam smiles and takes it as I walk over to Scott, getting on his bike. The alpha hands me the helmet, and I slip it on and give Liam a small wave as he drives off.
;;
"So, when were you gonna tell me about the money you took from Garrett's locker?" I say, crossing my arms as Scott shut the door. Instantly, he froze, because he had just been caught. I gave him a few seconds to think of an excuse before holding up my hand. "Save it. Liam told me, and the thing is you didn't."
"Madison, I was going to tell you. But I wanted to keep it at a minimum. Only me, Stiles, and Liam knew. Well, before today. Now my mom does." Scott whispered the last part to himself as he looked down.
I shook my head. "Whatever. If you need me, I'll be in my room. Alone."
He sighed and left me alone, while I walked upstairs and into my room. It didn't look like much. The walls were a faded color, and there was just a bed, dresser and body mirror. No one really expected this to be a permanent move, but as far as my Dad performed his hunting duties, that's what it looks like.
I sat on my bed, overlooking the lack of teenage girl products, and then grabbed my phone. Don't girls usually do DIYs to spice up their rooms? How hard could it be?
My eyes fell upon Christmas lights surrounding a bed in one picture, and I smirked to myself. "Piece of cake.";;
I threw my arms down at my side in defeat, a loud sigh escaping from my mouth. "I give up."
After saving the photo from tumblr, I ran into Scott's attic to look for Christmas lights. Once I found them, I carried them into my room and worked on untangling them. Which, for the most part, was easy. But when I started trying to hang them up, they got tangled, then I got tangled, and now I give up.
"Can somebody help me?!" I shouted, and Melissa busted into my room shortly after. She chuckled at the sight of the lights embracing me.
Melissa walked toward me, grabbing the wire between her delicate fingers. "Want to explain how this happened?"
