Miranda's pov

I was hanging out at the bonfire my idiot boyfriend Carl drug me to. I was sitting on his tailgate with Sierra my best friend. "You should just break up with him. He's a horse's ass." She grumbles, glaring at him. I sigh and stare at my feet. He's flirting and drinking. I'm sick of it but I'm not good at breaking up with people. Carl walks back over and lays between us. Sierra kicks him annoyed. He just laughs in that drunken state.

Jason's pov

I sigh watching my favorite girl sitting on that tailgate. She used to be my girl. Until that damn car wreck made her lose her memory. She forgot me and everyone from her old life. Except her parents. They thought it was best if she didn't remember so I was told never to come near her again. She now goes to a new school, has new friends, and the worst a new boyfriend that treats her like shit. I never woulda treated her like that. He sits up, starts talking to her, and rests a hand on her knee. She's not too into it and I have no idea what he said to her. But she gets off the tailgate and walks away in my direction. I so badly want to talk to her but I can't. Her parents would kill me. I'm not supposed to try and bring back her memory. As she brushes past, I almost grab her arm but at the last second I pull back and hide behind a tree. She stomps away furious. What did he say? I have to find out.

Miranda's pov

He's so dumb to lie to me like that. I was sitting right there watching him do it. I glare at the ground and sit on a picnic table, hot angry tears fall down my cheeks.

Jason's pov

I have an idea. I'll pretend I don't know her then ask what's wrong. I see her crying at the table. My poor girl. I wanna pound that guy's head in. I walk over.

Miranda's pov

"Hey ma'am." I nearly jump outta my seat. "Holy hell, you scared the shit outta me!" I gripe annoyed at the intrusion. He's got a cowboy get up. "What's wrong?" He asks, sitting beside me. "You don't know me so you don't need to know my problems." I mutter, glaring at my shoes. "I do know you." He says. "Either way..." He adds quickly, his eyes getting wide. "I see a girl crying, I wanna know who hurt you." "My stupid boyfriend. He was flirting with girls right in front of my face and then had the balls to lie to my face!" I gripe. "Then I don't think he deserves to be your boyfriend." He says, staring at his boots. I eye him wearily. "Who are you?" I ask, jumping to the ground. He stays silent, staring at the ground with a sad expression on his face. "You said you know me. But I don't know you." "Of course you don't." He grumbles, getting off the table. "Then who are you?" "I can't tell you." He says, walking away with his hands in his pockets. I catch up. "Why not?" "Because I can't. I'm sorry. Just pretend this night didn't even happen." He says, running away. Well that was weird.
