Mall Surprise

Miranda's pov

Me and Sierra are going out on a girls day. Little does she know Luke has set up a little surprise for her. I get a text from Jason.

J: how's it going?

M: mother bird is in position.

J: lol you silly girl. Cowboy and Loverboy moving into position.

I shake my head and try not to laugh.

Sierra's pov

I see a flower in a vase. I smile and walk over then gasp in surprise, seeing my name on it. Miranda looks just as surprised. It's got a note.

Jason's pov

"She's got the note Luke. Go plant the next one." I say into my phone, leaning against a wall hidden in shadow. I smile watching her jaw drop. Miranda texts me and I see her smirking.

M: loverboy did good.

J: sure he did.

M: you came up with that didn't you?

J: yep.

She smiles. Luke puts the next few flowers.

J: show her the other flowers.

M: right on cowboy. Mother bird over and out.

Hm what's with the mother bird thing? I shrug it off and Sierra finds the dozen or so flowers with little love notes.

Sierra's pov

I find another one. "Turn around." Huh? That's not very creative! "All it says is turn around!" I gasp confused. "Hey Sierra, turn around." Miranda says. Huh. I hear the strumming of a beat up old guitar. He's singing I don't want this night to end. I love this song. He grabs the mic. I try to get through the crowd but it's packed. "Lukey!" I cry. He smiles. "There's a gorgeous baby girl in the crowd, please let her by." A spotlight settles on me. I look up seeing Jason manning it. I smile and mouth a thank you. He nods. He's wearing an earpiece with an attached mouthpiece. "Get up there princess." He says, making me smile. Miranda stands beside him now. I rush to the stage and someone hands me a mic. Huh? "I really hate to let this moment go, touchin' your skin and your hair fallin' slow." He sings, putting a hand on my cheek. My hands are shaking in shock. We sing the duet together.

Luke's pov

Jason does the motions of getting on one knee. Oh yeah. "Sweet girl, I wanna ask you a very important question." I'm super nervous. "What's that Luke?" I glance back up on the mall balcony at Jason and Miranda. One arm wrapped around her waist and her head against his shoulder. I look back down at my beautiful blonde haired blue eyed princess. "Will you.... Marry me?" I finally get out. "Oh my gosh, Luke....." She gasps. My head feels lightheaded.

Jason's pov

Crud. I think Luke's blood sugar's too low. He's got diabetes. He looks like he's about have a moment. "Luke, you okay man?" I call. I don't think he heard me. "I'll be right back hun." I take the earpiece out and quickly get down to Luke. He looks out of it. Dammit. "Luke, buddy, where's your insulin?" "I... I'm fine Jason." Jeez. "No you're not man, where is it?" "Luke, are you okay?" Sierra cries. "He needs insulin, he's got diabetes." I tell her, helping him to a chair. "I... I'm fine man." I shake my head. He's not fine. "I'll run to the pharmacy. He's too bad out of it to answer. "Answer." Luke mumbles. I stop walking. "Sierra...." "Oh yes Luke I'll marry you." He smiles. I run down to the pharmacy and get a vial of insulin. He injects himself with it. "Dude, did you eat today?" He shakes his head. "I thought I could hold out." He says, sighing. I roll my eyes. "Don't do that again, Luke. You know you can't." "Sorry man, thanks for helping." I smile. "Anytime man." Miranda comes down from the balcony. "Hey Si, looks like I'm planning your wedding!" She gasps, excited.
