Life. It's full of exciting things and nerve-wracking things. And then there's the things that are both exciting and nerve-wracking, like starting a new school that your best friend, Sara, will not be at now, and possibly not ever.
It's time for me to start Jennings already. I don't know how I feel about it. My parents said I probably should only Morph into a fox from now on, just so I get used to it, but I could really use the thrill of flying right now.
I've practically aced my training by now, my parents always said I'm a fast learner. Now I'm going to go to Jennings and try to fit in.
I'm taking deep breaths as some sort of relaxation technique, but I can't say it's been working. As I'm packing now, I can't help but get caught up in the "What If" game.
The good thing is, at Jennings we're allowed to send letters to our parents and they can write back, so I'll be able to keep in touch with them, and Sara, too.
"Take a deep breath, Carrie, you got this." Mom hugged me.
"Promise you'll write to us every day," Rose said. "Okay?"
"Okay," I smiled. "I love you guys."
Mom smiled warmly and Rose squeezed me tight. Dad gave me a fatherly smile and a pat on the back, then I walked into the building called Jennings Prep.
