"Woah there." he said quietly, sounding surprised. I felt his hands holding my waist. Realizing

who it was that I had just knocked into, I quickly placed my hands on his chest and pushed

myself backwards. His hand moved up to my arms, holding and gently balancing me. His hazel

eyes searched for mine but failed considering they were cast downward in embarrassment. "I'm so

sorry." I muttered backing up out of his reach, letting his hands fall from my sides. "Don't worry

about it," he bent his head down looking at me and smiling, "I didn't realize anyone was back

here. Are you hiding from me?" His mouth curled into his famous grin and he chuckled. My heart

melted. "Not hiding, just trying to get away from the party for a little while," I finally looked up at

him, "what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be out socializing, your basically the man of the

hour." Hearing that, he smiled modestly and moved past me towards the fountain, his back to me.

"Actually I was looking for you, and I got lucky coming back here" he leaned over the edge of the

fountain looking into the water. What he said seemed so outrageous that I laughed. "No you

weren't" I said to him. He spun back around and made eye contact. "Yes I was! Honest." He

almost looked upset. "I don't believe you. Why would you be looking for me?" I asked in

disbelief.

"I didn't get to really talk to you after your father introduced us. I felt rude for leaving before I got

in a proper hello."

"I guess me slamming into you wasn't the best hello either." I laughed at myself and my

clumsiness.

"I didn't really mind that to be honest." he said and winked at me. I felt my cheeks reddening and

I couldn't help but smile; he was so charming.

"Well I guess we should start over." I felt my adrenaline kicking in and i held my hand out again.

He reached out and gently grabbed it. I felt the tingles working their way up my arm again. "That

sounds like a good idea." He stepped closer to me, leaving only about 2 feet between us.

"Well I'll start," I said smiling and I stepped even closer. Close enough that I could hear him

breath, his breath seeming almost as quickly paced as mine due to my pounding heart. I hoped he

couldn't feel my body shaking.

"Hi, I'm Raeleigh." I whispered and looked directly in his eyes, glancing down at his mouth a

couple times. His lips were perfect and I couldn't help but admire them. I couldn't believe myself

to be honest. I was never this confident around guys, especially extremely attractive ones.

"Its nice to meet you Raeleigh. Your name is almost as beautiful as you," his red Vans inched

closer to me white wedges. My heart continued to race, it was almost concerning how hard it was

banging against my rib cage. "I'm Justin," he continued, "and I'm glad i'm finally properly

meeting you." He pulled my arm closer and looked deep into my eyes speeding up my heart and

making my mind go completely blank. I had no idea what to say next, we just stood with our faces

inches apart looking at at each other. His eyes grazed my face, moving from my blue eyes and

long lashes, over my small nose and plump upturned lips. His eyes continued down past my tan

neck, desire coming across his face. He did his signature lip lick and slowly brought his eyes back

up to mine. My thick hair blew in the wind and I used my free hand to brush it behind my ear. To

my surprise he ended the moment and asked quietly, "Do you think we should get back to the

party? People might wonder where we are." I simply nodded my head, unable to form words.

Justin turned to leave, keeping his grip on my hand strong and leading me out of the courtyard

onto the path. I dropped his hand when we came back into view of the party goers causing Justin

to stop in his tracks, turn back, and look at me confused. "I just don't want anyone to get any

ideas." I said, hoping he would understand. Justin looked down at his shoes disappointed and

muttered something I was unable to make out. His reaction surprised me and left me extremely

confused as we got closer to the party and he was pulled in every possible direction by people who

wanted to discuss business or hear about his tour. He was so busy talking that I didn't get another

chance with him the rest of the night. I spent my time absentmindedly socializing while side

glancing at him and downing the champagne flutes the servers slipped me. The party wound

down late that night and I waited on the stairs hoping I could catch Justin when he left. After

waiting until each and every guest had left, and Justin had failed to show, I went looking for my

dad. I found him in the den watching a baseball game while my mom cleaned in the kitchen. I

stood in the doorway and cleared my throat. "Hey sweetie," my dad called when he finally noticed

me standing there, "did you have fun tonight?" "Yeah," I said quietly. "Hey dad? did you happen

to see Justin leave? I just didn't get to say goodbye and I thought that was kind of rude." I tried to

sound casual. My dad kept his eyes on the game when he answered, "Yeah, he just walked

through the backyard. He lives next door you know." My heart picked up speed and got me a

little too excited. "Really?!" I asked extremely chipper. I followed that with a more calm and

relaxed "Cool." to hide my excitement. "Yeah hon. He told me to tell you goodbye. I think he

likes you." He looked at me with a stupid grin on his face. "Okay dad," I laughed, embarrassed,

"I'm going to bed. Love you." "Love you too, sweetheart." He muttered, still completely focused

on the TV. I slipped away, told my mom goodnight and headed up to my room. I pulled on my

pajamas and hopped into bed turning on the TV and getting comfortable. I didn't bother looking

for something to watch, my mind was too preoccupied thinking about the boy in the red Vans. I

turned the TV off and slipped under the covers. I stared at the ceiling in the dark with a smile on

my face replaying everything that had happened in the courtyard. I though about what my dad

had said and his words echoed in my mind, "I think he likes you", "I think he likes you". My heart

felt full and happy and I fell asleep with a wide smile.
