chapter 23

ok,first of all before i start this story i wanna say how sorry i am for not updating for like 2 months. i just checked when was the last time i updated it and saw two months ago i was like "crap!" so yeah here you go. this story is about to end btw.

petra's POV

I grab my books from my desk and carry my bag. school had just ended and i was going back with hanji today. finals just ended a few weeks ago and now schools going to end in a few weeks. i look around the empty lab. the room was very quite. i close my eyes as i remember everything i did in this very room. i love science. but i'm not as good at it like how hanji is. but levi calls us chemistry freaks. 

"i've been waiting for you for forever" i look to m right only to see levi leaning against the door. 

"i thought i told you i'm going back with hanji?" i ask as he walks towards me. 

"oh come on, school's gonna end soon" he says kissing my cheek. 

just before i could reply hanji bursts in the room. "hey i'm going back with her this time levi!" she says running towards me grabbing my arm dragging me away. i look back and wave goodbye to levi and he waved back. he looked quite upset for some reason. 

hanji and i talk about many things as we walk back home. she mentions how exited she is about college. the both of us are going to the same college which would be really fun. i wave goodbye to hanji as she unlocks her front door and enters her home. i enter my home which is only next door. as i enter i call out for my father. but i hear no reply. i see a pice of paper on the coffee table. i walked towards it and read the note. sadly, it wasn't a letter to hogwarts.

dear ms.ral,

we are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. just kidding, why would you get your letter a few weeks before school ends? anyways, i'll be back home from work tomorrow.something happened and i'll be staying over at a friends house for the night. im sorry, i know i promised to take you out tonight. maybe some other time?

i sigh. father has been really busy these days. i look at the letter again and tilt my head in confusion. 

    P.S have fun 

just after i heard the doorbell and walk to get the door. i open the door and to my suprise i see levi standing with his hands in his pockets. His right hand brushes a few strands of hair away from his eyes. 

"hey" he said putting his right hand in his pocket once more. 

"oh hey, uhm come in!" i say moving aside allowing him to enter. he steps in and looks at me. "omg are you serious?" i ask laughing at him as he stares at me. i lock and close the door stiil laughing and he is still staring at me. i kiss him on the cheek and i could see him blush a bit. "it's clean" i say. he chuckles and lifts my hand and softly kisses it. as we sit on the couch he tells me that father had called him to accompany me. of coarse dad would do such a thing. i'm glad he's not the 'stay away from my daughter' type. dad trusts levi. and so do i. 

we order pizza and there's a silence. after a while, levi decides to break it. 

"hey petra?"

"hm?" i reply,grabbing mockingjay from the coffee table, opening it to where i last stopped. 

"i don't think i'll be going to prom, it's lame" he says looking away. 

"come on, don't be like quentin!" i exclaim looking at him 

"nah.. he's too messy" i laugh and rest my head on his shoulder. should i ask him this question? will it ruin the moment?. i took a deep breath. "hey levi?" i question looking up at him. he replies the same way i did before. 

"what's going to happen to us after this?" i raise my head and look into his eyes.he opens his mouth to speak but i don't give him a chance. "levi, we may not even be going to the same college. what if we don't see each other again?you're probably going to fi-" he cuts of my sentence. 

"don't you dare say that" he says starring back into my eyes. 

"but it's true! don't you remember the amount of fangirls you had even during our first day at kyojin high? i'm sure it'd repeat when we go to college. you're going to keep your eyes on this really pretty girl then the next thing i know i get a text from you saying that we're done!" i take a deep breath and look down. "i don't want that to happen". 

i don't know how long i've been crying because suddenly i felt levi wipe tears from my cheek. i look back at him as he cups my cheek. he sighs then speaks. 

"petra, i love you. i really do. and there isn't a single girl in this entire world that could replace you. i know i sound cheesy right now but i don't care because i'm with you. petra you thought me how to smile again you're the only person that can make me laugh and feel happy. i even loved you since the time we first met in the park. and even during that first day of high school i still had my eyes on you. i still love you and will not stop loving you"

i smile at him in relief. but at the same time i still feel scared, still worried about our future. then i remember. i loved him since we were kids too. the amount of boys that flirted with me in school and i still had my eyes on him. well you could guess what levi did to them. maybe we will last forever. won't we?

he leans closer to me and i do the same. slowly closing my eyes, we kiss.
