{chapter 5}

Mikasa's POV

I sat down on a chair asking so many questions in my mind

"Why did this happen?"

"Is this what life had in store for my parents?"

We have waited outside the operation room for about an hour or so and still no news from the doctor. I was supposed to hang out with petra today. but then I got a call from one of my mothers friend saying that they were involved in an accident.

Eren was the most impatient one though. He wore a stressed yet also a worried look on his face. he walked zig zag around the hall with his arms behind his back.

Honestly, I can admit that Eren was more worried than me. He was closer to my parents than how I was and he loved them dearly. He cared for our mother the most though.

After a while, he took a seat next to mine. it was silent. he looked down at the floor and finally spoke.

"How" he said in a low voice

"How are you so calm? Aren't you worried?" He looked up from the floor and looked at me. Before I could reply he burst into tears.

"DON'T YOU LOVE THEM? WHAT IF THEY DIE?!?"

I was silent. I couldn't say anything. it was as if I ran out of words to say. he continued to look towards the floor and started sobbing. I quickly pulled him into a hug. Sure he was getting my uniform wet but he was crying. My brother was crying. He was in pain. and i don't want to see him in pain. I knew during that very moment I had to be there for him.

Finally, the doctor came out. Eren quickly wiped of his tears and stood up.

Eren's POV

After an hour of waiting the doctor finally came out from the operation room.

"So?" Mikasa asked

The doctor looked down then back to us. By the look in his eyes I could tell what happened to my parents. I started to tear up.

The doctor looked at mikasa and I with sad eyes. "forgive me, I couldn't save your parents"

With that I fell on my knees. tears filled my eyes once more. Mikasa kneeled down and gave me a hug. she was crying as well.

"I thought they would see me graduate"

"I thought that they would see me grow up"

"I though they were going to be there on the day I get married"

But no, they're gone, dead. I wish that none of this had happened but it did. The doctor left mikasa and I alone. right now, mikasa is the only family I have and I refuse to loose her as well.
