{chapter 17}

Annie's POV

It's been three weeks since Jean was caught by the police. two weeks since Jean was sentenced to death. things are normal in school again. Eren seems to be happy again. especially that he's with mikasa now.

"Hey Annie!"

I looked to see a tall blond boy in front of me. "Armin" I said tugging my hair behind my ear. "Wanna have lunch together?" He asks brushing his bangs out of his eyes. I nodded in agreement as we made our way to a little food stall nearby our school. he pulled a seat allowing me to sit down first. i sat down as he pushed the chair in and he moved over to the chair opposite me and sat down.

"Well then mister top of the class what do you want?" I asked, teasing him. ever since Armin managed to be the schools top student, people have been calling him that. "oh come on annie,not you to!" He exclaimed as I burst into laughter. "i don't know,what do you want female titan" he teased back. I've been called that nickname ever since i joined the football team. we chatted and teased each other while waiting for our food to arrive. We kept on chatting even when our food arrived. this is why I like my relationship with armin. we're not the type to be all googly-eyed at each other. we would act like we're the best of friends even though we were a couple.

After lunch, Armin walked me home."oh yeah!" He exclaimed, reaching for something in his pocket. "close your eyes" he demanded me. and so I did. after a while I finally heard his voice once more. "ok, you can open them now". when I opened my eyes I found a silver necklace dangling from my neck. "it's beautiful" I said and I thanked him. "it is your birthday after all" he gave me a little peck on the cheek "happy birthday annie" I smiled at him "thank you" I thanked. Armin always treated me right. i don't know how I can ever thank him.

I waved goodbye to him before closing the doors behind me.

*the next day!*

I was talking to Sasha while grabbing a few things from my locker. honestly, I think I have too many crazy friends. well excluding mikasa of coarse. but compared to Sasha, Hanji is much more crazy. "nice necklace you got there Annie" she pointed to the gift that I have received from Armin. "oh, thanks" I said heading of to class and Sasha heading of to hers. before I could enter class I heard a familiar voice call out to me. "quite a sweet life you have now huh Annie?" I turned around. "who's there?!" I asked.the voice was so familiar. I saw a figure about my hight appear from the dark. my eyes widened as I recognized the figure from top to bottom. long brown hair, fair skin and green eyes. "carol.." I said. "hello old friend" she replied. (ok, so carol is my OC so no stealing!)

"What are you doing here?!" I exclaimed, still in shock."what's wrong? I'm just transferring schools". we were facing each other in the corridor for so long, before we knew it first period was over.

"Annie!" Armin called and came over to me. "who's this?" He asks pointing to carol. "oh, my names carol I'm new here" she says,smiling. "and who's this Annie?" Carol asks me moving closer towards us. "I'm Armin" he says.

"Well hello there cutie-"

"He's my boyfriend"

Carol laughed "your kidding! You having a boyfriend!" I narrowed my eyes at her. i was about to speak but my sentence was cut of by armins. "actually, she is my girlfriend". carol stopped laughing and flipped her hair, narrowing her eyes at me "i see... Very well then, I'll be of to class! Toodles!". Ugh that girl made me sick. I grabbed armins hand so we could head to our next class together. Armin and I have math together. "how do you know each other?" He asks me. "we were in the same school, kempen high" (in case you didn't know,kempen means military)

After school was over Armin decided to walk me home once more. before we left I came head to head with carol once more."hey Annie! Move aside I'm walking home with Armin" she said shoving me over. I glared at her. how dare she! That little brat! I grabbed Armins hand and walked pass carol. as we walked pass her i heard carol whisper

"You don't know what's going to happen to you Annie leaonheart"

What did she mean?
