Winter
Yet another day in the dragon realm, only today was special. I stared at my reflection in the tile of the palace. The white marble acted as a mirror, I could see my bright blue eyes and the tears inside of them. Now is not the time for emotion, I scolded myself.
"Are you ready to go?" Tigress asked breaking my daze.
I nodded slowly glancing over at the black and white exceed. She did indeed look like a Siberian tiger. I stared at my reflection once more. My form fitting white and blue dress, stopped just above the knee. My black hair came down to my waist in long waves, the ends the same shade of blue as my eyes and dress. I supposed I looked ready to go to Earth. I lifted my head and stalked forward, Tigress by my side. I headed straight towards the palace meet room.
I pushed past the large door, very large doors considering that everything here is made in dragon size. Inside several faces turned towards me, two of which were dragon faces. Sprawled on two dragon size thrones, sat Celeste and Glaciem, my parents. Across from them stood my twin Makeria. Makeria, smile on her face as always, waved at me.
As I stared at them all I couldn't help but think of how complicated our family situation was. Makeria was my biological twin, though we looked and acted nothing alike. Celeste and Glaciem found us when we were babies. Glaciem took it upon himself to raise me, from what I've heard, he thought my eyes resembled the most crystal like ice he had ever seen. Celeste took in Makeria, saying she could see the stars in the child's eyes.
Our parents could never have had children of heir own. Celeste was forever sterile due to her tremendous magic power, bearing the burden of being the dragon queen for as long as she lived. Glaciem simply held his place for never losing to a challenger. Celeste and Glaciem didn't exactly love each other, but they had grown quite fond of one another over the years. My magic style revolved mostly around Glaciem's magic, Cleste had taught me certain celestial magic spells. The opposite went for Makeria.
"Are you ready my child?" Glaciem asked, his voice booming throughout the empty room.
"Yes sir," my voice comes out confident.
Out of the blue, a golden yellow figure emerges from the doorway. Leilani soars through the air, landing on Makeria's head. Her cheetah like spots shimmered in the lighting.
"'Bout time you got here," Makeria exclaimed, winking at the cat.
"Let's open the portal," Celeste's voice, full of authority, breaks our quarrel.
Makeria nods, her hair, which looked mainly blonde at the moment, swayed as she stepped forward. She held her hands out in front of Celeste. I stepped closer to them, Tigress at my heels. An orb of light began to form between the two. "Celestial Dragon Slayer Secret Art, Realm Transportation!" Makeria exclaimed. A surge of magical power traveled through the room as the portal opened.
"Carry out your mission, then return home with all of the dragon's pride," Celeste said.
"See you soon!" Makeria said, steeping through the portal, Leilani at her heels.
I glanced towards the room before following suit. The last thing I saw was Glaciem's white scales, and Celeste's crimson talons.
